Karena hal tersebut bisa merugikan hak kesalamatan konsumen muslim di Indonesia. Mie Samyang adalah produk olahan pangan impor dari Korea Selatan yang sudah beredar sejak tahun 2013 di Indonesia dan diyakini sebagai produk halal karena sudah memiliki sertifikat halal negara asal dan dinyatakan oleh pihak importir melalui media sosial, pernyataan halal dari pihak importir tidak memiliki kepastian hukum tentang karena harus didukung dengan label halal. Bagaimana status sertifikat halal produk olahan pangan impor yang diterbitkan oleh lembaga halal negara asal yang tidak menjalin kerjasama dengan lembaga halal indonesia, serta bagaimana tindakan lembaga halal indonesia terhadap beredarnya produk halal olahan pangan impor yang hanya bersertifikat dari negara asal. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan deskriptif analitis dimana penulis memberikan gambaran-gambaran secara sistematis mengenai fakta-fakta. Tahap penelitian mencangkup penelitian kepustakaan, pengolahan data dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian mengambarkan status sertifikat halal yang dimiliki produk samyang belum dapat dinyatakan sebagai produk halal karena antara lembaga halal korea selatan (KMF) dan lembaga halal indonesia (MUI) belum adanya kerjasama tentang jaminan produk halal, dan importir tidak mengajukan permohonan sertifikasi halal ke MUI. MUI tidak dapat melakukan tindakan terkait masih beredarnya produk samyang. Karena sebagai lembaga sertifikasi halal lokal, MUI mempunyai keterbatasan kewenangan.
