Tuna daksa is a person whose body-parts disability on activator part that involves bones, muscles, and joints, it—as in body structure or functions—can harm and obstruct people from conducting or working as normal people do. Psychological impact suffered by tuna daksa can be identified as feeling anxious, depressed, apathetic, frustrated, and being introvert by pulling themselves from society. In addition, they have negative sight upon their body condition or their self-acceptance. However, it is found that there are some people whose positive manners for their body deviance and turn this around into an achievable ability. This is what happens to tuna daksa whose profession as athlete in NPCI of Kota Bandung. The purpose of this research is to gain empirical data regarding how close the correlation between self-compassion and psychological well-being on athlete of tuna daksa on Kota Bandung’s Paralympic Committee Indonesia. Applied method in this research is rank-spearman correlation in the amount of 25 people in population. The result of data processing derived from rs = 0,886 that shows strong connection between Self-compassion and Psychological Well-being. It means that the higher self-compassion on tuna daksa athlete in Kota Bandung’s NPCI, the higher psychological well-being as well.

Tuna daksa adalah orang yang mempunyai kelainan tubuh pada alat gerak yang meliputi tulang, otot dan persendian, baik dalam struktur maupun fungsinya yang dapat mengganggu atau menghambat dirinya untuk melakukan kegiatan atau pekerjaan seperti orang normal lainnya. Dampak psikologis yang dialami Tuna daksa diantaranya merasa cemas, minder, bersikap apatis, merasa frustrasi, dan cenderung menarik diri dari lingkungan pergaulan. Selain itu, mereka memiliki pandangan negatif terhadap kondisi tubuhnya maupun penerimaan dirinya. Namun, ada sebagian orang yang memiliki sikap positif terhadap keterbatasan fisik yang dimiliki, dan mengubah keterbatasan tersebut menjadi sebuah kemampuan yang menghasilkan prestasi. Hal tersebutlah yang terjadi pada Tuna daksa yang berprofesi sebagai atlet di NPCI Kota Bandung. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh data empiris mengenai keeratan hubungan antara self-compassion dengan psychological well-being pada atlet Tuna daksa di National Paralympic Committee Indonesia Kota Bandung. Metode yang digunakan adalah korelasi rank-spearman dengan jumlah populasi sebanyak 25 orang. Hasil pengolahan data diperoleh rs = 0,886 yang menunjukkan hubungan yang sangat kuat antara Self-compassion dengan Psychological Well-being. Ini berarti bahwa semakin tinggi self-compassion, maka semakin tinggi pula psychological well-being pada atlet Tuna daksa di NPCI Kota Bandung.
