Abstract. Madrasah Ibtidaiyah is a school alike to elementary school, but in learning more Islamic values. In Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, initially honorary teachers were assigned to teach as subject teachers. However, as time went on students continued to multiply so that they were assigned to become homeroom teachers. When teaching students in grade 1,2, and 3 encountered many difficulties such as the lack of proper teaching methods, background of students who come from densely populated areas make problematic and difficult to manage their attitude. Teachers try to remain professional in carrying out their duties, they turn difficulties into challenges. Even though there are obstacles they persist and earnestly mobilize their abilities to carry out their duties. According to Stoltz (2005), Adversity quotient (AQ) is a person who ability to change difficulties into a challenge to solve. The purpose of this study was to obtain an overview of Adversity quotient on honorary teachers in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Baitur Rohim Bandung. The method used is a descriptive study with a population of 10 people. The measuring instrument used is the Adversity Response Profile from Paul G. Stoltz (2005). The results of this study indicate that as many as 60% of honorary teachers are in the category with moderate adversity quotient, 30% are in the low adversity quotient category and 10% are in the high adversity quotient category.Keywords: Adversity quotient, Honorary Teachers, Madrasah IbtidaiyahAbstrak. Madrasah Ibtidaiyah adalah sekolah yang setara dengan sekolah dasar, namun dalam pembelajaran lebih banyak mengangkat nilai-nilai keislaman. Di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Baitur Rohim awalnya guru honorer ditugaskan mengajar menjadi guru mata pelajaran. Namun, dengan berjalannya waktu siswa terus bertambah sehingga mereka ditugaskan menjadi wali kelas. Ketika mengajar siswa kelas 1, 2, 3 ditemui berbagai kesulitan seperti metode pembelajaran yang kurang tepat, latar belakang siswa yang berasal dari daerah padat penduduk menjadikan siswa bermasalah dan sulit diatur. Guru berusaha tetap profesional menjalankan tugasnya, mereka mengubah kesulitan menjadi tantangan. Meskipun terdapat hambatan mereka tetap bertahan dan bersungguh-sungguh mengerahkan kemampuan yang mereka miliki untuk menjalankan tugasnya. Menurut Stoltz (2005), Adversity quotient (AQ) adalah kemampuan seseorang mengubah kesulitan menjadi sebuah tantangan untuk diselesaikan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendapat gambaran mengenai Adversity quotient pada guru honorer di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Baitur Rohim Kota Bandung. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi deskriptif dengan populasi sebanyak 10 orang. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah Adversity Response Profile dari Paul G. Stoltz (2005). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan sebanyak 60% guru honorer berada pada kategori dengan adversity quotient yang sedang, 30% berada pada kategori adversity quotient yang rendah dan 10% berada pada kategori adversity quotient yang tinggi.Kata Kunci: Adversity quotient, Guru Honorer, Madrasah Ibtidaiyah |
