This article is a research result of correlation between social support and Self Esteem on Andikpas in Lembaga Pembinaan Khusus Anak (LPKA) of class II Bandung. This institution specially intent to improve self confidence, selfesteem, and optimistic attitude for the future. Some children prisoners (andikpas) believe that they are better individuals, and yet some believe that they are not. Their belief about themselves are related to obtained support from their parents, officers and friends in LPKA. The objective of the study is describe the correlation between Social Support and Self Esteem on children prisoners (Andikpas) in Lembaga Pembinaan Khusus Anak (LPKA) Kelas II Bandung. this is a correlational study with 128 children prisoners (andikpas). The instrument of social support generated from Sarafino (1994) and Self Esteem generated from Coopersmith (1967). The results show that there is a high positive correlation between Social Support and Self Esteem on children prisoners in Lembaga Pembinaan Khusus Anak (LPKA) of class II Bandung and it is about 0,69. Social support aspects are Emotional Support, Esteem Support, Instrumental Support and Informational Support and have high correlation with Self Esteem in each in about 0,614; 0,615; 0,645; 0,654. Network Support has high correlation with Self Esteem in about 0,556. |

. Artikel ini merupakan hasil penelitian atara Social Support dengan Self Esteem pada andikpas di Lembaga Pembinaan Khusus Anak (LPKA) Kelas II Bandung. Lembaga Pembinaan Khusus Anak (LPKA) Kelas II Bandung secara khusus bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kepercayaan dan harga diri serta sikap optimis akan masa depan. Sebagian anak didik pemasyarakatan (andikpas) ada yang menghayati dirinya menjadi individu yang lebih baik, namun ada juga yang menghayati dirinya tidak berubah setelah berada di LPKA. Penghayatan andikpas mengenai dirinya terkait dengan dukungan yang diperoleh dari keluarga, petugas dan teman-teman di LPKA. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui keeratan hubungan antara Social Support dengan Self Esteem pada Andikpas di Lembaga Pembinaan Khusus Anak (LPKA) Kelas II Bandung. Penelitian ini merupakan studi populasi, dengan subjek penelitian sebanyak 128 andikpas. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian korelasional. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah Social Support yang diturunkan dari Sarafino (1994) dan Self Esteem yang diturunkan dari Coopersmith (1967). Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif yang tinggi antara Social Support dengan Self Esteem pada Andikpas di Lembaga Pembinaan Khusus Anak (LPKA) Kelas II Bandung sebesar 0,69. Aspek-aspek Social Support yaitu Emotional Support, Esteem Support, Instrumental Support dan Informational Support memiliki hubungan yang tinggi dengan Self Esteem masing-masing sebesar 0,614; 0,615; 0,645; 0,654. Network Support memiliki hubungan yang cukup tinggi dengan Self Esteem sebesar 0,556. |
