Abstract. Education is one of the most important program that made by government. The government said the necessary things to put every child at school for at least 9 years. This rule includes normal and special needs kids. For the special needs child, the government provides a special system for the education called inclusive education. There are several kids categorized as a special needs child one of them is a slow learner. Slow learner is a child that usually has a low score at school and they have not tended to. Besides, they had difficulties in learning, every time they learn something it needs more time than the other and it has to be repeated over and over which they can’t understand if they just learn it once. When their given task by their teacher, they need more time to do it and they can’t finish it on time and also they usually like to hang out with children younger than their age. The succession of children with slow learning not just because of school factor’s but parents also involved in their succession that’s why parental involvement seems important in their education. The purpose of this research is to give a description about parental involvement of parents with slow learners children. The theory based on parental involvement by Joyce Epstein (2001). This research uses literature review based on parental involvement aspect like parenting, communicating, volunteering, learning at home, decision making, and collaborating with community. Keywords: Inclusive Education, Slow Learner, Parental involvement. Abstrak. Pendidikan merupakan program penting pemerintah yaitu berupa program wajib belajar selama 9 tahun dan hal tersebut berlaku bagi siapapun warga Negara Indonesia. Pendidikan ini termasuk pendidikan bagi siswa normal dan siswa berkebutuhan khusus. Pada siswa berkebutuhan khusus terdapat suatu sistem bernama inklusi. Salah satu yang membutuhkan pendidikan inklusi ini adalah siswa slow learner. Slow learner merupakan anak yang di sekolah mempunyai rata-rata di bawah enam sehingga mempunyai resiko cukup tinggi untuk tinggal kelas. berdasarkan hal tersebut parental involvement dianggap penting bagi pendidikan anak slow learner. Slow learner kemampuan dibawah rata-rata kelas, prestasi belajar selalu di bawah KKM, selalu terlambat dalam pengumpulan tugas, daya tangkap materi rendah, dalam memahami materi butuh pengulangan, dan senang berteman dengan anak yang usianya dibawahnya. Dalam membantu siswa slow learner maka keterlibatan orang tua dirasa penting untuk mensukseskan pendidikannya. Tujuan dari penilitian ini adalah untuk melihat gambaran mengenai parental involvement pada orang tua dengan anak slow learner. Teori yang digunakan adalah teori parental involvement oleh Joyce Epstein (2001). Penelitian ini termasuk studi pustaka dengan aspek-aspek parental involvement seperti parenting, communicating, volunteering, learning at home, decision making, dan collaborating with community.)Kata Kunci: Pendidikan Inklusi, Slow Learner, Parental involvement |
