Abstract. According to Raviv who is also supported by Mccutcheon, intensity of worship decrease along with age. But, in fact which found in the phenomenon on a community “X” about 30 percent of a member of constitute an individual aged early adulthood the majority of whom are female. Behavior that indicated in the form of spent hours in a day to seek for information related to an idol, feel that there are bound to an idol, even were willing spending money in large amount to their idol is an indication of the high level of celebrity of worship. On the other hand, individual early adulthood having one of the tasks of the development in the form of building romantic relationship with the opposite sex to be able to determine a candidate spouse .But most of them actually had a strained relationship with the opposite sex. It was because the majority of they felt unable to relation which is can be established warm with others. One of the things that can affect the ability of an individual in warm relationships with others is attachment style. The purpose of this research is to gain empirical data about the relationship between attachment style and celebrity worship in early adulthood woman on members of “X” community. Researcher using correlational analysis technique using a quantitative approach that is spearmann correlation. Data retrieval using a measuring instrument of Celebrity Attitude Scale (CAS) by Maltby et Al. (2006) and questionnery of Attachment Style which construct by researcher based on Attachment Style theory by Griffin and Bartholomew (Baron and Byrne, 2005). The results of this study are there is a positive relationship between each attachment style and celebrity worship in early adulthood woman on members of “X” community. The strongest correlation in this study is between the dismissing attachment style and celebrity worship with a correlation coefficient of 0,594. While the lowest correlation in this study is the correlation between secure attachment style with celebrity worship with a correlation coefficient of -0.335.Keywords: attachment style, celebrity worship, early adulthoodAbstrak. Menurut Raviv yang juga diperkuat oleh McCutcheon intensitas pengidolaan semakin menurun seiring dengan bertambahnya usia. Akan tetapi, justru hal yang ditemukan di fenomena pada komunitas “X” sekitar 30% anggota merupakan individu yang berusia dewasa awal yang sebagian besar berjenis kelamin perempuan. Perilaku yang ditunjukkan berupa menghabiskan waktu berjam-jam dalam sehari untuk mencari informasi terkait idola, merasakan adanya keterikatan dengan idola, bahkan rela menghabiskan uang dalam jumlah banyak untuk idolanya merupakan indikasi dari tingginya tingkat celebrity worship. Di sisi lain, individu dewasa awal memiliki salah satu tugas perkembangan berupa membangun hubungan romantic relationship dengan lawan jenis untuk dapat menentukan calon pasangan hidup. Akan tetapi sebagian besar dari mereka justru tidak menjalin hubungan dengan lawan jenis. Hal ini dikarenakan sebagian besar merasa tidak mampu untuk dapat menjalin relasi yang hangat dengan orang lain. Salah satu hal yang dapat mempengaruhi kemampuan individu dalam membina hubungan yang hangat dengan orang lain adalah attachment style. Oleh karena itu, tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya hubungan antara attachment style dengan celebrity worship pada wanita dewasa awal anggota komunitas “X”. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah korelasional dengan menggunakan analisis kuantitatif yang berupa korelasi spearmann. Adapun dalam pengambilan data peneliti menggunakan kuesioner Celebrity Attitude Scale oleh Maltby et Al. (2006) serta kuesioner Attachment Style yang dikonstruksikan oleh peneliti berdasarkan teori Attachment Style menurut Griffin dan Bartholomew (dalam Baron dan Byrne, 2005). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat hubungan antara masing-masing attachment style dengan celebrity worship pada wanita dewasa awal anggota komunitas “X”. Adapun korelasi terkuat yaitu antara dismissing attachment style dengan celebrity worship dengan koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,594. Sedangkan korelasi terendah terdapat pada korelasi antara secure attachment style dengan celebrity worship dengan koefisien korelasi sebesar -0,335.Kata Kunci: attachment style, celebrity worship, dewasa awal |
