Abstract. “D” Company is a company which focuses on manufacturing shoes. For this reason, Production department is the most vital department in this company. The duty of production department employees is to make an upper from the cutting process to stitching process. All of the duties in this department are done by the operators who are selected through several selection processes, namely: psycho test, interview, medical check-up and skill training. Nevertheless, the productivity of the employees is still far from the company’s expectation. Each day, there are only 3 until 5 from 11 lines that reach the target and the amount of faulty work are increasing as well. The result of the interview showed that the behavior data of the employees indicated workplace stress. This condition portrayed the sources of stress perceived by the employees during the work. The purpose of this research was to observe the portrayal of the sources of workplace stress perceived by the employees who worked at production department in “D” Company Majalengka. This research used descriptive study. The population of the research was the employees of production department in “D” Company which were about 1.034 people with 155 employees as the samples of the research. The instrument used in this research was a questionnaire related to the sources of workplace stress designed by the researcher based on the theory from Ivancevich dan Matteson (1980). The result of this research could be concluded that the biggest factor which considered as the source of workplace stress by production department employees were workplace stress associated with the individual (83.8%) and teamwork (64.5%). Abstrak. PT “D” adalah perusahaan yang bergerak dibidang pembuatan sepatu. Departemen produksi merupakan ujung tombak perusahaan. Tugas karyawan departemen produksi adalah membuat upper dari proses cutting hingga stiching. Seluruh pekerjaan produksi sepenuhnya dikerjakan oleh operator yang telah melalui proses seleksi, yaitu psikotes, interview, medical check up serta pelatihan skill. Pada kenyataannya produktivitas karyawan masih jauh dari harapan perusahaan. Setiap hari hanya 3-5 dari 11 line yang dapat mencapai target serta jumlah kesalahan pekerjaan semakin meningkat. Dari hasil wawancara ditemukan data tingkah laku karyawan yang merupakan indikasi dari dampak stres kerja. Kondisi ini menggambarkan adanya sumber-sumber stres yang menyebabkan munculnya stressor pada perusahaan yang dirasakan karyawan saat bekerja. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat gambaran sumber stres kerja pada karyawan departemen produksi PT “D” Majalengka. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan penelitian studi deskripif. Populasi penelitian ini adalah karyawan departemen produksi PT “D” sebanyak 1034 orang dengan sampel penelitin sebanyak 155 orang. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah kuesioner sumber stres kerja yang dirancang oleh peneliti berdasarkan teori Ivancevich dan Matteson (1980).Dari hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa faktor yang paling besar dianggap sebagai sumber stres kerja oleh karyawan departemen produksi adalah sumber stres yang berasal dari individu (83,8%) serta sumber stres berasal dari kelompok (64,5%). |
