dc.description Abstract PT. Cemindo Gemilang Semen Merah Putih, Bayah District, Lebak Regency, Banten Province, is a cement producer Company. The cement combustion process at PT. Cemindo Gemilang Semen Merah Putih uses coal as fuel. Coal is the only fuel chosen by the Company because it is considered more economical and suitable for large scale combustion. Coal classification for cement making fuels has a standard quality set by the Company.Before being used as fuel, a prior analysis of coal was carried out at PT. Cemindo Gemilang Semen Merah Putih. This test was carried out so that the coal supplied was in accordance with the Company’s standard quality so that the performance of the kiln combustion engine could work optimally and durable.There are several tests conducted to determine the quality of coal including proximate analysis (Inherent Moisture, Ash, Volatile Matter, Fixed Carbon), calorific value, and total sulfur. In some coal samples carried out twice testing on coal shipment and fine coal. From the test results, the average value of fine coal is inherent moisture 10.87%, ash 4.97%, volatile matter 43.40%, fixed carbon 40.77%, total sulfur 0.15%, and calorific value 5314 cal / gr, for coal A. Inherent moisture 11.96%, ash 5.38%, volatile matter 44.12%, fixed carbon 38.55%, total sulfur 0.23%, and calorific value 5244 cal / gr, for coal B. Inherent moisture 11, 68%, ash 5.98%, volatile matter 43.86%, fixed carbon 38.47%, total sulfur 0.21%, and calorific value 5220 cal / gr, for coal C. Inherent moisture 12.65%, ash 6.15%, volatile matter 43.69%, fixed carbon 37.51%, total sulfur 0.23%, and calorific value 5189 cal / gr, for coal D. From these results it can be stated that coal is eligible and suitable for use for burning cement raw materials.Keywords: Inherent Moisture, Ash, Volatile Matter, Fixed Carbon, Total Sulfur,  and Calorific value. Abstrak. PT Cemindo Gemilang Semen Merah Putih, Kecamatan Bayah, Kabupaten Lebak, Provinsi Banten, merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang produsen semen. Proses pembakaran semen di PT Cemindo Gemilang Semen Merah Putih menggunakan batubara sebagai bahan bakar. Batubara satu-satunya bahan bakar yang dipilih oleh Perusahaan karena dinilai lebih ekonomis dan cocok untuk pembakaran dalam sekala besar. Klasifikasi batubara untuk bahan bakar pembuatan semen ini memiliki mutu standar yang telah ditetapkan oleh perusahaan. Sebelum dijadikan bahan bakar, dilakuan analisis terlebih dahulu terhadap batubara di PT Cemindo Gemilang Semen Merah Putih, pengujian ini dilakukan agar batubara yang di suplai sesuai dengan mutu standar Perusahaan sehingga kinerja mesin pembakaran kiln dapat bekerja secara optimal dan tahan lama. Ada beberapa pengujian yang dilakukan untuk mengetahui kualitas batubara diantaranya analisis proksimat (Inherent Moisture, Ash, Volatile Matter, Fixed Carbon), nilai kalor, dan total sulfur. Pada beberapa sampel batubara dilakukan dua kali pengujian pada coal shipment dan fine coal. Dari hasil pengujian didapat nilai rata-rata sampel fine coal yaitu inherent moisture 10,87%, ash 4,97%, volatile matter 43,40%, fixed carbon 40,77%, total sulfur 0,15%, dan nilai kalor 5314 kal/gr, untuk batubara A.
