Abstract. Increasingly competitive competition requires companies to increase competitiveness to be able to compete with similar companies. One effort that can be done to improve effective and efficient work methods. The design of work methods can be done using the principles of movement economics. Home Industry Sumber Makmur Abadi is a company engaged in the garment industry. The company's target in one month is 1300 sets. Companies often delay production for four to seven days. This is caused by the existence of one work station that does not reach the production target, namely the sewing work station. Because they must place each component on the left, the operator must use the dominant component using the left hand. There is no work standard that makes each operator work with different methods according to the resulting work time is also different. Therefore, this study discusses the workings carried out by operators and discusses effective work methods using MODAPTS (Modular Setting of Predetermind Time Standards). The results of the time calculation based on the MODAPTS method show the time of making shirts for each operator is different. This is caused by the work methods performed by each operator are not the same. Therefore, this working method must be standardized by making Standard Procedure (SOP) to get the same time standard from each operator. In addition to obtaining an effective standard time, improvements are made to the layout of the components with due regard to economic movements. Design work methods that can eliminate ineffective movements, resulting in faster processing time. Shirt production process time is 2 minutes faster than the original requirements.Keywords: Movement Study, Work Methods, MODAPTS.Abstrak. Persaingan yang semakin kompetitif menuntut perusahaan harus meningkatkan kinerja agar mampu bersaing dengan perusahaan sejenis. Salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kinerja adalah merancang metode kerja yang efektif dan efisien. Perancangan metode kerja dapat dilakukan dengan menggunakan prinsip ekonomi gerakan. Home Industry Sumber Makmur Abadi merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak dalam bidang industri garmen. Target perusahaan dalam satu bulan sebanyak 1300 setel. Perusahaan sering kali mengalami keterlambatan produksi selama empat hingga tujuh hari. Hal tersebut diakibatkan adanya salah satu stasiun kerja yang tidak mencapai target produksi yaitu stasiun kerja penjahitan. Keterlambatan disebabkan karena penempatan setiap komponen berada di sebelah kiri sehingga operator harus menjangkau komponen dominan dengan menggunakan tangan kiri. Tidak adanya standar kerja membuat setiap operator melakukan kegiatan kerja dengan metode yang berbeda-beda sehingga waktu kerja yang dihasilkan juga berbeda. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui cara kerja yang dilakukan operator dan merancang metode kerja yang efektif dengan menggunakan metode MODAPTS (Modular Arrangement Of Predetermind Time Standards). Hasil dari perhitungan waktu berdasarkan metode MODAPTS menunjukkan waktu proses pembuatan kemeja setiap operator berbeda. Hal ini diakibatkan oleh metode kerja yang dilakukan setiap operator tidak sama. Oleh karena itu, metode kerja tersebut harus distandarkan dengan membuat Standards of Procedure (SOP) untuk mendapatkan waktu standar yang sama dari setiap operator. Selain itu untuk mendapatkan waktu standar yang efektif, dilakukan perbaikan layout komponen dengan memperhatikan ekonomi gerakan. Rancangan metode kerja tersebut dapat menghilangkan gerakan yang tidak efektif, sehingga waktu proses lebih cepat. Waktu proses produksi kemeja lebih cepat 2 menit dari kondisi semula.Kata Kunci: Studi Gerakan, Metode Kerja, MODAPTS. |
