Abstract. As Indonesian exchange participants who migrate far from their home countries, they will face culture shock in a new country because of the number of differences from their home countries. This study aims to determine the construction of social reality that can be understood from the motives, adaptation processes and self-meaning of the Exchange Participants AIESEC Indonesia in carrying out the Global Volunteer program in Turkey. This study uses a type of qualitative research using phenomenology methods. Data collection techniques used include in-depth interviews, documentation, and library studies. Data obtained by in-depth interviews analyzed the data analysis process with Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis. The results of this study are (1) Exchange participants AIESEC Indonesia has different motives such as to develop themselves to become better and more useful individuals who can also learn new cultures. (2) Exchange participants AIESEC Indonesia found themselves experiencing some signs of reaction from culture shock such as food and weather in Turkey also experiencing difficulties in adapting such as communicating with Turkish people who could not speak English, there were differences in expectations of project management and habits walking, and stereotyping. (3) Volunteer Global Experience gives meaning to exchange participants such as the journey of self-discovery, the journey of exploring the whole in a country, the journey of challenging environment, the journey of spreading positive impact to the society, the journey of giving and getting, the journey of being a positive thinker and finding blessing.Keywords: Adaptation in Turkey, Motives, Culture Shock, Self-Meaning, Exchange Participants AIESEC IndonesiaAbstrak. Sebagai exchange participants AIESEC Indonesia yang merantau jauh dari negara asal ke negara Turki, mereka akan menghadapi culture shock di negara baru dikarenakan terdapatnya sejumlah perbedaan dari negara asal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui konstruksi realitas sosial yang dapat dipahami dari motif, proses adaptasi dan makna diri Exchange Participants AIESEC Indonesia dalam menjalankan program Global Volunteer di Turki. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode fenomenologi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan antara lain wawancara mendalam, dokumentasi, dan studi kepustakaan. Data yang diperoleh dengan in-depth interview dianalisis proses analisis data dengan Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis. Hasil penelitian ini adalah (1) Para exchange participants AIESEC Indonesia memiliki motif yang berbeda-beda seperti untuk mengembangkan dirinya agar menjadi pribadi yang lebih baik dan bermanfaat juga dapat mempelajari budaya baru. (2) Para exchange participants AIESEC Indonesia menemukan diri mereka mengalami beberapa tanda reaksi dari culture shock seperti pada makanan dan cuaca di Turki juga mengalami kesulitan dalam beradaptasi seperti dalam berkomunikasi dengan orang Turki yang tidak bisa berbahasa Inggris, adanya perbedaan ekspektasi terhadap manajemen proyek dan kebiasaan berjalan kaki, dan stereotype.
