Abstract. The development of technology increasingly facilitated communication, especially the spreading of information based on social media. The existence of technology such as internet provides convenience to the public regarding the dissemination of information, now everyone can accept new information by accessing the internet for example, online media or social media. The ease like this helped the government especially in sending new information, concerning the policy of the government one of them on Tuesday without cigarettes (no smoking day on Tuesday) that were spread through the social media twitter. The purpose of this study was to determine how the student responses on policies made by the government on (no smoking day on Tuesday) distributed through social media twitter. The research methodology used by the researchers is the descriptive method. Its population is a student at the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Bandung Islamic University class of 2010, using purposive sampling of the entire population of 314 people found 75 to be the object of research. The conclusion of this study is the stimulus given to respondents about the no smoking policy Tuesday twitter socially mediated get diverse reactions from each respondent. On the whole the respondents learned the existence of the policy on (no smoking day on Tuesday) went through the social media twitter but the implementation in the everyday life was not yet implemented maximally. Keywords : response, policy, stimulus respons Abstrak. Perkembangan teknologi semakin mempermudah komunikasi khususnya penyebaran informasi yang berbasis media sosial. Adanya teknologi seperti internet memberikan kemudahan kepada khalayak mengenai penyebaran informasi, kini setiap orang bisa menerima informasi baru atau berita baru dengan mengakses jaringan internet contohnya media online atau media sosial. Kemudahan seperti ini membantu pemerintah khususnya dalam menyampaikan informasi baru, mengenai kebijakan pemerintah salah satunya hari selasa tanpa rokok yang disebarkan melalui media sosial twitter. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana respon mahasiswa mengenai kebijakan yang dibuat pemerintah mengenai hari selasa tanpa rokok yang disebarkan melalui media sosial twitter. Metodologi penelitian yang digunakan oleh peneliti adalah metode deskriptif. Populasinya adalah mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Islam Bandung angkatan 2010, dengan menggunakan purposive sampling dari keseluruhan populasi yang berjumlah 314 didapatkan 75 orang untuk dijadikan objek penelitian. Temuan penelitian ini memperlihatkan stimulus yang diberikan kepada responden mengenai kebijakan hari selasa tanpa rokok di media sosial twitter mendapatkan reaksi yang bermacam-macam dari setiap responden. Secara keseluruhan responden mengetahui adanya kebijakan hari selasa tanpa rokok tersebut melalui media sosial twitter namun implementasi pada kehidupan sehari-hari belum terlaksana secara maksimal.
