Abstract. This research entitled Ritual Communication In Tabut Ritual Procession (Case Study Concerning Ritual Communication Scenes In Tabut Ritual Procession In Bengkulu City). The context of the research is a unique reality of a religious cultural tradition that has been hundreds of years old and continues to the present day. This advisory aims to understand the ritual procession of the tabut, the meaning of ritual communication, and to know the reason why the tabut ritual procession can survive in the midst of the progress of time. The research method used is qualitative with approach using case study method. Data were obtained by conducting in-depth interviews with 4 relevant informants, participatory observation, and documentation studies. Based on the results of research indicate that the procession of ark ritual In Bengkulu city is the result of hereditary brought by Imam Senggolo, followed by his descendants. Initially the tabut ritual procession was brought and implemented as a medium of broadcasting of Islam because of the procession is easily the community gathered in a place. Tabut ritual procession in it there are many process of Ritual Communication. Where in the ritual has 13 stages of procession starting from the end of Dzulhijjah month up to 13 Muharram. The tradition of the Tabut ritual procession was performed to commemorate the martyrdom(syahid) of Al-Husayn and all who were martyr (syahid) in the field of karbala.Keywords: Ritual Communication, Tabut Ritual Procession BengkuluAbstrak. Penelitian ini berjudul Komunikasi Ritual Dalam Prosesi Ritual Tabut (Studi Kasus Mengenai Adegan Komunikasi Ritual Dalam Prosesi Ritual Tabut Di Kota Bengkulu). Konteks penelitian berupa realita unik dari sebuah tradisi budaya religi yang telah berumur ratusan tahun dan tetap berlangsung hingga kini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami prosesi ritual tabut, makna komunikasi ritual, serta untuk mengetahui alasan mengapa prosesi ritual tabut dapat bertahan di tengah kemajuan zaman. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan menggunakan metode studi kasus. Data diperoleh dengan melakukan wawancara mendalam kepada 4 informan yang relevan, observasi partisipatif, dan studi dokumentasi. Berdasarkan dari hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa prosesi ritual tabut Di kota Bengkulu adalah hasil dari turun temurun yang dibawa oleh Imam Senggolo, yang dilanjutkan oleh keturunan-keturunannya. Pada awalnya prosesi ritual tabut ini dibawa dan dilaksanakan sebagai media penyiaran islam karena dengan adanya prosesi ini dengan mudahnya masyarakat berkumpul di suatu tempat. Prosesi ritual tabut didalamnya terdapat banyak proses Komunikasi Ritual. Dimana dalam ritualnya memiliki 13 tahapan prosesi yang dimulai dari akhir bulan Dzulhijjah sampai dengan tangggal 13 Muharram. Tradisi prosesi ritual tabut dilakukan untuk mengenang syahidnya Al-Husain dan semua yang syahid di padang karbala.Kata Kunci : Komunikasi Ritual, Prosesi Ritual Tabut Bengkulu |
