Abstract. Diabetes mellitus is marked by high blood glucose levels. Special management for diabetes mellitus is needed, such as regulating diet, consumption of oral anti-hyperglycemic drugs and injections. The use of long-term antihyperglycemic drugs causes side effects, so people are looking for alternative therapies that are considered safe as herbal medicines. Herbal medicines have been tested in various studies to cure most of diseases, including olives and black cumin. Olive oil contains monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFA) while black cumin contains thymonoquinone. MUFA and thymonoquinone can reduce blood glucose levels. The purpose of this study was to see a comparison between olive oil and black cumin oil in reducing blood glucose levels in diabetic mice by alloxan induce. This study used a randomized group design method. Mice were divided into 3 groups, group I positive control metformin 1,3 mg/20grW, group II was given by olive oil 0,052ml/20grW, group III was given black cumin oil 0,0052gr/20grW. Blood test was taken on days 7,10,17, and 24 to see blood glucose levels before and after treatment. The results showed a decrease in blood glucose levels in each treatment. But if an appeal test is carried out, the results of the experiment are not meaningful/significantly.Abstrak. Diabetes melitus ditandai dengan kadar glukosa darah tingi. Dibutuhkan penatalaksanaan khusus untuk diabetes melitus seperti pengaturan asupan makanan serta konsumsi obat antihiperglikemia oral dan suntikan. Pemakaian obat antihiperglikemia jangka panjang menimbulkan efek samping, sehingga masyarakat mencari terapi alternatif yang dianggap aman seperti obat herbal. Obat herbal telah teruji di berbagai penelitian dapat menyembuhkan segala macam penyakit, salah satunya zaitun dan jintan hitam. Kandungan zaitun mengandung monounsaturated fatty acid (MUFA) sedangkan jintan hitam mengandung thymonoquinone. MUFA dan thymmonoquinone dapat menurunkan kadar gula darah. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk melihat perbandingan antara minyak zaitun dan minyak jintan hitam dalam menurunkan kadar gula darah mencit yang dibuat diabetik dengan cara diinduksi aloksan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode rancangan acak kelompok. Mencit dibagi menjadi 3 kelompok, kelompok I kontrol positif metformin 1,3mg/20grBB, kelompok II diberi minyak zaitun 0,052ml/20grBB, kelompok III diberi minyak jintan hitam 0,0052gr/20grBB. Pengambilan darah diambil pada hari ke 7, 10, 17 dan 24 untuk dilihat kadar gula darah sebelum dan setelah perlakuan. Hasil menunjukkan penurunan kadar gula darah pada masing-masing perlakuan tetapi jika dilakukan uji banding menunjukkan hasil perbedaan yang tidak bermakna.
