Pengaruh Intensitas Getaran Mesin Gerinda terhadap Peningkatan Risiko Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

dc.description Abstract. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is a disease of peripheral neuropathy that can be caused by vibration. Vibration exposure in a period of more than 8 hours with vibration intensity more than 5 m/sec2 can be dangerous. This study aims to determine the effect of grinding machine vibration exposure on CTS complaints. The study was conducted by observational analytic methods in Gupeti Market Bandung in 2018. This research was conducted on 72 respondents. CTS complaints were assessed with the Boston Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Questionnaire and physical examination. The vibration intensity of the grinding machine was measured using a Lutron vb-8200 vibration tester meter. The relationship between the intensity of grinding machine vibration and CTS complaints was tested by logistic regression analysis using Stata Version 11.0. The results showed that 27 respondents were diagnosed with CTS with vibration intensity of 10.2–79.5 m/sec22 while 45 respondents have negative result of CTS. The results showed a relationship between the intensity of vibration of grinding machines with CTS complaints. Every 1 unit increase in vibration intensity will increase the likelihood of being exposed to CTS by 16%. This shows that there is a strong relationship between the intensity of exposure to grinding machine vibration with CTS complaints on welders in Gupeti Market, Bandung.Keywords: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS), grinding machine, Gupeti market, vibration, welding worker Abstrak. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) merupakan penyakit neuropati perifer yang dapat disebabkan oleh getaran. Pajanan getaran dalam jangka waktu lebih dari 8 jam dengan intensitas getaran lebih dari 5 m/detik2 dapat berbahaya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pajanan getaran mesin gerinda terhadap keluhan CTS. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode analitik observasional di Pasar Gupeti Bandung tahun 2018. Penelitian ini dilakukan kepada 72 responden. Keluhan CTS dinilai dengan Boston Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Questionnaire dan pemeriksaan fisik. Intensitas getaran mesin gerinda diukur menggunakan alat Lutron vb-8200 vibration tester meter. Hubungan antara intensitas getaran mesin gerinda dengan keluhan CTS diuji dengan analisis regresi logistik menggunakan Stata Versi 11.0. Hasil penelitian didapatkan 27 responden didiagnosis CTS dengan intensitas getaran 10,2–79,5 m/detik2 dan 45 responden lainnya tidak terdiagnosis CTS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan antara intensitas getaran mesin gerinda dengan keluhan CTS. Setiap 1 unit peningkatan intensitas getar akan meningkatkan kemungkinan terkena CTS sebesar 16%. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa adanya hubungan yang cukup kuat antara intensitas pajanan getaran mesin gerinda dengan keluhan CTS pada pekerja las di Pasar Gupeti Bandung.Kata kunci: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS), getaran, mesin gerinda, pasar gupeti, pekerja las
