Abstract. Stress is a pattern reaction and adaptation in dealing with stressors and forms of responses to threatening situations both physically and psychologically from internal or external environments. One of external environment is a work environment. Acute or chronic stress can affect appetite so that changes in body mass index (BMI) can occur. The general objective of this study was to determine the relationship of stress levels with BMI at the tellers of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Singaparna Branch of Tasikmalaya. This research is analytic observation by using cross sectional method. The subject of this study was the teller of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia in the Singaparna Branch of Tasikmalaya with a total sample of 39 people who met the inclusion criteria. The stress level in this study was measured by DASS42. The data is analyzed using chi-square. The results of this study show that most tellers have a normal BMI. Most of the tellers of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia in the Singaparna Branch of Tasikmalaya with normal stress levels have a normal BMI. Most mild stress tellers have a normal BMI, and 1 person with underweight. Moderately stressed tellers have abnormal BMI. The results of the chi-square test showed no relationship between stress levels and BMI with p value: 0.186 (> 0.05). Changes in BMI in stressed individuals depend on the type of individual emotional eaters or non-emotional eaters.Keywords: body mass index, stress, teller Abstrak. Stres merupakan pola reaksi serta adaptasi dalam menghadapi stressor dan bentuk tanggapan terhadap situasi yang mengancam baik fisik maupun psikologis dari internal atau eksternal. Salah satu lingkungan eksternal yang berpengaruh adalah lingkungan kerja. Stres akut atau kronis dapat mempengaruhi nafsu makan sehingga dapat terjadi perubahan indeks massa tubuh (IMT). Tujuan umum penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan tingkat stres dengan IMT pada teller PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Cabang Singaparna Kabupaten Tasikmalaya . Penelitian ini adalah analitik observasional dengan menggunakan metode cross sectional. Subjek penelitian ini adalah teller PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Cabang Singaparna Kabupaten Tasikmalaya dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 39 orang yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi. Tingkat stres pada penelitian ini diukur dengan DASS42. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan chi-square. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan sebagian besar teller memiliki IMT normal. Sebagian besar teller PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Cabang Singaparna Kabupaten Tasikmalaya dengan tingkat stres normal memiliki IMT normal. Sebagian besar teller dengan stres ringan memiliki IMT normal, dan 1 orang dengan IMT kurang. Teller dengan stres sedang, memiliki IMT yang tidak normal. Hasil uji chi-square menunjukan tidak terdapat hubungan antara tingkat stres dengan IMT dengan nilai p:0,186 (p>0,05). Perubahan IMT pada individu yng stres tergantung pada tipe individu emotional eaters atau non-emotional eaters.Kata kunci: : stres, indeks massa tubuh, tellet |
