Abstract. Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of non-communicable diseases in 2012 and responsible for 17.5 million deaths, an estimated fatal loss of 6.7 million caused by stroke. This study aims to determine the comparison of incidence of hypertension and DM type 2 in patients with ischemic stroke in hospitalized patients at Al Islam Hospital Bandung in 2017. This study is analytic with cross-sectional design. A sample were 775 people taken by using total sampling technique. Data collection was obtained from the medical record and analyzed by using Chi-Square. The results were 591 patients (76.3%) with DM type 2 consist of 220 patients (37.2%) with hypertension and 371 (62.8%) patients without hypertension. For ischemic stroke patients with history of DM type 2  was 184 patients (23.7%) with DM type 2 consist of 54 patients (29.3%) with hypertension and 130 patients (70.7%) without hypertension. From the bivariate analysis, it appears that hypertension and DM type 2 did not affect the incidence of ischemic stroke, because the p value>0,05. It can be concluded from this study that there is no significant differences in the incidence of hypertension between ischemic stroke patients with DM type 2 and ischemic stroke patients without DM type 2, because the risk factors for ischemic stroke were not only hypertension and DM type 2, there were other risk factors that could affect it too.Keywords: DM type 2, Hypertension, Stroke Ischemic.Abstrak. Penyakit kardiovaskular adalah penyebab utama penyakit tidak menular pada tahun 2012 dan bertanggung jawab atas 17,5 juta kematian, jumlah kematian tersebut diperkirakan 6,7 juta disebabkan oleh stroke. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbandingan kejadian hipertensi dan DM tipe 2 pada pasien stroke iskemik pada pasien rawat inap di Rumah Sakit Al Islam Bandung tahun 2017. Penelitian ini bersifat analitik dengan desain cross-sectional. Besar sampel sebanyak 775 orang, diambil menggunakan teknik total sampling. Pengumpulan data diperoleh dari rekam medik dan dianalisis dengan uji statistik Chi-Square.  Dari hasil penelitian ditemukan pasien stroke iskemik tanpa riwayat DM tipe 2 sebanyak 591 orang (76,3%) terdiri dari 220 orang (37,2%) dengan hipertensi dan 371 orang (62,8%) tanpa hipertensi. Pada pasien stroke iskemik dengan riwayat DM tipe 2 sebanyak 184 orang (23,7%) terdiri dari 54 orang (29,3%) dengan hipertensi dan 130 orang (70,7%) tanpa hipertensi. Hasil analisis bivariat bahwa hipertensi dan DM tipe 2 tidak mempengaruhi angka kejadian stroke iskemik, karena didapatkan nilai p>0,05. Dari penelitian ini disimpulkan tidak adanya perbedaan kejadian hipertensi yang bermakna antara pasien stroke iskemik dengan DM tipe 2 dan stroke iskemik tanpa DM tipe 2, karena faktor risiko penyebab stroke iskemik tidak disebabkan oleh hipertensi dan DM tipe 2 saja, terdapat faktor risiko lain yang dapat mempengaruhinya.Kata Kunci: DM tipe 2, Hipertensi, Stroke Iskemik.Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of non-communicable diseases in 2012 and responsible for 17.5 million deaths, an estimated fatal loss of 6.7 million caused by stroke.
