Abstract The background of this research is the low learning outcomes on the content of Arabic lessons in fifth grade students of SD Muhammadiyah 4 Bandung. Found facts taken on Friday, 18 November 2019 at 10:00 WIB revealed that of 29 VA class students at SD Muhammadiyah 4 Bandung many had difficulty when learning to master Arabic vocabulary. The results of the daily evaluation showed that 70% reached 40-70 and 30% achieved completeness of 71-100, this is because students had difficulty memorizing the mufradat in large numbers. Based on these data the researchers aimed to determine the effect of the crossword puzzle medium to improve the Arabic vocabulary of fifth grade students at SD Muhammadiyah 4 Bandung. This type of research is a quasi experimental type nonequivalent control group design. The population of this research is the fifth grade students of SD Muhammadiyah 4 Bandung as many as 54 students. The sample of this research is class VA (29 students) as the experimental group and class VB (25 people) as the control group. The results showed that the crossword puzzle media had an effect on student learning outcomes in increasing Arabic vocabulary about the profession. This is indicated by the sig. (2.tailed) price of 0.007 (p <0.05). The effect size of crossword puzzle learning media on increasing Arabic vocabulary is -0.622 (36%) which is included in the large effect category. The conclusion of this research is that the Cross Puzzle Media has an effect on increasing the Arabic vocabulary of students based on the research during four meetings the students are able to master 20 new vocabulary about the profession.Keywords : Crossword Puzzles, Vocabulary, ArabicAbstrak Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah hasil belajar yang rendah pada muatan pelajaran Bahasa Arab pada siswa kelas V SD Muhammadiyah 4 Bandung. Ditemukan fakta yang diambil pada hari jum’at, 18 November 2019 pukul 10.00 WIB mengungkapkan bahwa dari 29 siswa kelas VA SD Muhammadiyah 4 Bandung banyak yang mengalami kesulitan ketika belajar menguasai kosakata bahasa Arab. Hasil evaluasi harian menunjukkan 70% mencapai nilai 40-70 dan 30% yang mendapatkan ketuntasan yaitu 71-100, ini dikarenakan siswa kesulitan dalam menghafal mufradat dengan jumlah yang banyak. Berdasarkan data tersebut peneliti bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh media teka-teki silang untuk meningkatkan kosakata Bahasa Arab siswa kelas V di SD Muhammadiyah 4 Bandung. Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi eksperimental tipe nonequivalent control group design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V SD Muhammadiyah 4 Bandung sebanyak 54 siswa. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswakelas VA (29 siswa) sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan kelas VB (25 orang) sebagai kelompok kontrol. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media teka-teki silang berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar siswa dalam meningkatkan kosakata Bahasa Arab tentang profesi. Hal tersebut ditunjukkan dengan harga sig.(2.tailed) sebesar 0,007 (p<0,05). Effect size media pembelajaran teka-teki silang terhadap peningkatan kosakata Bahasa Arab adalah -0,622 (36%) yang termasuk dalam kategori efek besar. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah Media Teka-teki Silang berpengaruh untuk meningkatkan kosakata Bahasa Arab siswa berdasarkan penelitian selama empat kali pertemuan siswa mampu menguasai 20 kosakata baru tentang profesi.Kata Kunci : Media Teka-teki Silang, Kosakata, Bahasa Arab |
