Abstract. Adolescene is a transition from childhood to adulthood which is marked by physical, cognitive, emotional and psychosocial changes. In adolescene, individuals begin to become acquaninted with dating relationships, which are activities carried out by two people of different sexes to get to know each other. The annual records of the Women’s National Commissioner show that dating violence is the second largest in Indonesia, which occurs in adolescent girls. Dating violence is physical and psychological violence to gain power over a partner (Murray, 2007), such as psychological, physical and sexual violence. The results of Fenita Purnama (2016) show that adolescents with high self-esteem may experience dating violence, but adolescents with low self-esteem have a higher risk. Selfe steem is an individual assessment related to himself: an attitude of acceptance or rejection that he feels capable, meaningful, successful and valuable (Coopersmith, 1967). The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of self esteem on dating violence in late adolescent women in Bandung. This study used a sample of 107 respondents using the self esteem measurement tool from Coopersmith (1967) and CTS 2 from Murray (2007). The results of this study shos that there is an effect of self esteem on dating violence by 48%, and there is a negative effect of selfe steem on dating violence, meaning that the more positive self-esteem is, the lower dating violence is, vise versa.Keywords: Adolescene, Dating, Self-esteem, Dating-violence.Abstrak. Remaja merupakan transisi masa anak menuju dewasa yang ditandai dengan perubahan fisik, kognitif, emosi dan psikososial. DI usia remaja, individu mulai mengenal dengan hubungan pacaran, yaitu aktivitas yang dilakukan dua orang berlainan jenis kelamin untuk mengenal satu sama lain. Catatan Tahunan Komnas Perempuan menunjukkan kekerasan dalam pacaran merupakan kedua terbesar di Indonesia, yang terjadi pada perempuan usia remaja-dewasa. Dating violence adalah perilaku kekerasan fisik maupun psikologis untuk memperoleh kekuasaan atas pasangannya (Murray, 2007), seperti kekerasan psikologis, fisik dan seksual. Hasil penelitian Fenita Purnama (2016) menunjukkan remaja dengan self esteem tinggi mungkin mengalami dating violence, namun remaja dengan self esteem rendah memimiliki resiko yang lebih tinggi. Self esteem merupakan penilaian individu yang berkaitan dengan dirinya: sikap penerimaan dan penolakan bahwa dirinya merasa mampu, berarti, berhasil dan berharga (Coopersmith, 1967). Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh self esteem terhadap dating violence pada perempuan remaja akhir di kota Bandung. Penelitian ini menggunakan sampel 107 responden dengan menggunakan alat ukur self esteem dari Coopersmith (1967) dan CTS 2 dari Murray (2007). Hasil penelitian ini memperlihatkan terdapat pengaruh self esteem terhadap dating violence sebesar 48%, dan terdapat pengaruh negatif self esteem terhadap dating violence, artinya semakin positif self esteem maka semakin rendah dating violence, begitupun sebaliknya.Kata Kunci: Remaja, Pacaran, Self-esteem, Dating-Violence. |
