dc.description Abstract. The purpose of this study was to provide a review of the pineapple peel benefits as antibacterial. This study based on literature studies using the articles having the theme of antibacterial that published during 2010 – 2020. The study founded that the pineapple peel extracts were active againts several gram positive bacteria, such as Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus faecalis, Streptococcus faecalis, Bacillus cereus, Bacillus amyloliquefaciens, Bacillus subtilis, Propionibacterium acnes, Streptococcus mutans, and Streptococcus sanguis. The higher growth inhibition was shown for Enterococcus faecalis with a 21,58 mm inhibition diameter at 12,5% concentration. The chemical compound in pineapple skin known as flavonoids, tannins, saponins, phenolics, steroids, alkaloids, and bromelin enzyme. It was suspected that the potential antibacterial compund in pineapple peel extract were flavonoids and bromelin enzyme.Keywords: Antibacterial, positive gram bacteria, pineapple peel extract, flavonoid, bromelin enzymeAbstrak. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk memberikan gambaran manfaat kandungan senyawa kimia kulit nanas sebagai antibakteri. Metode penelitian yang dilakukan yaitu dengan melakukan penelusuran pustaka artikel dari artikel-artikel yang telah dipublikasikan dengan rentang tahun terbitan 2010-2020. Studi ini menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak kulit nanas aktif terhadap beberapa bakteri gram postif, seperti Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus faecalis, Streptococcus faecalis, Bacillus cereus, Bacillus amyloliquefaciens, Bacillus subtilis, Propionibacterium acnes,  Streptococcus mutans, dan Streptococcus sanguis. Daya hambatan pertumbuhan bakteri yang lebih tinggi ditunjukkan pada bakteri Enterococcus faecalis dengan diameter hambatan 21,58 mm pada konsentrasi 12,5%. Senyawa kimia yang ada di dalam kulit nanas dikenal sebagai flavonoid, tanin, saponin, fenolik, steroid, alkaloid, dan enzim bromelin. Diduga bahwa potensi antibakteri dalam ekstrak kulit nanas adalah flavonoid dan enzim bromelin.Kata Kunci: Antibakteri, bakteri gram positif, ekstrak kulit nanas, flavonoid, enzim bromelin
