Abstract. Tetraselmis chuii has a prospective alternative source of potential bioactive compounds. Researchers aimed to determine the potential ofculture Tetraselmis chuii in the laboratory and the potential for antibacterial activity against Propionibacterium acnes.culture was Tetraselmis chuii conducted at theLaboratory Researchof Pharmacy study program, FMIPA Bandung Islamic University. The culture process is carried out through several stages, namely media sterilization, algal culture, measurement of lux in culture, observation of culture development, algal harvesting. Then a review of several journals was analyzed related to relevant research data, then processed and combined into one data unit in tabular form. Processing data were analyzed to obtain information related to the potential of Tetraselmis chuii as an antibacterial source against Propionibacterium acne.culture Tetraselmis chuii can be carried out in seawater and fresh water with its water salinity limit. Theprocesses influential cultureare temperature, pH, nutrition, and light. Culture monitoring can be seen from the measurement of light/ lux meter, temperature, and color change. Microalgae contains alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, steroids, coumarin and tannins. In Tetraselmis chuii there are alkaloids, flavonoids, and fatty acids. It is suspected that these compounds can potentially be antibacterial Propionibacterium acne.Keywords : Microalgae, Tetraselmis chuii, antibacterial, Propionibacterium acnes. Abstrak. Tetraselmis chuii memiliki prospektif sebagai salah satu sumber alternatif penghasil senyawa bioaktif potensial. Peneliti bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi kultur Tetraselmis chuii di laboratorium dan potensi aktivitas antibakteri terhadap Propionibacterium acnes. Kultur Tetraselmis chuii dilakukan di Laboratorium Riset program studi Farmasi, FMIPA Universitas Islam Bandung. Proses kultur dilakukan melalui beberapa tahapan, yaitu sterilisasi media, kultur alga, pengukuran lux pada kultur, pengamatan perkembangan kultur, panen alga. Kemudian dilakukan review dari beberapa jurnal dianalisis terkait data penelitian yang relevan, lalu diolah dan digabungkan menjadi satu kesatuan data dalam bentuk tabel. Data hasil pengolahan dianalisis sehingga diperoleh informasi terkait dengan potensi Tetraselmis chuii sebagai sumber antibakteri terhadap Propionibacterium acne. Kultur Tetraselmis chuii dapat dilakukan di air laut dan air tawar dengan batasan salinitas airnya. Proses kultur yang berpengaruh ialah suhu, pH, nutrisi, dan cahaya. Pemantauan kultur dilihat dari pengukuran cahaya/ lux meter, suhu, dan perubahan warna. Mikroalga terdapat kandungan diantaranya alkaloid, flavonoid, saponin, steroid, kumarin, dan tanin. Pada Tetraselmis chuii terdapat kandungan alkaloid, flavonoid, dan asam lemak. Diduga senyawa tersebut dapat berpotensi sebagai antibakteri Propionibacterium acne.Kata kunci : Mikroalga, Tetraselmis chuii, antibakteri, Propionibacterium acnes.
