Abstract. Acne is a problem that both disturbs health and appearance. Acne is often found on facial skin that can affect psychic and have a negative impact on the quality of life. African leaves are known to have secondary metabolites which have the potential to be antibacterial. Previous studies have shown that African leaf extract has strong antibacterial activity. This study aims to make a clay mask formulation containing ethanol extract of African leaves. Extraction was carried out by the maceration method using ethanol 96%. Clay mask is formulated using clay minerals with a combination of kaolin and bentonite. African leaf extract was tested for antibacterial activity in a manner in-vitro using the agar diffusion with wells method. The test results showed the presence of inhibition zones at a concentration of 6% against Propionibacterium acnes with an average of 6.66 mm and at a concentration of 10% against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria producing inhibition zones with an average of 11.2 mm. The optimum formula for the clay mask base contains 40% kaolin and 8% bentonite. Clay mask preparations are formulated with the addition of African leaf extract with a concentration of 10% (F1A). F1A preparations are concentrated green, have a semi-solid consistency, have a characteristic odor of extracts, are homogeneous, have a pH value of 6, dry time for 21 minutes 31 seconds and spread area of 5.5 cm. F1A preparations were declared stable based on storage stability tests in terms of organoleptic, homogeneity and pH values.Keywords: African leaf, Acne, Antibacterial activity test, Clay maskAbstrak. Jerawat merupakan masalah yang mengganggu kesehatan juga penampilan. Jerawat sering ditemukan pada kulit wajah dan dapat memengaruhi psikis serta berdampak negatif pada kualitas hidup. Daun afrika diketahui memiliki senyawa metabolit sekunder yang berpotensi sebagai antibakteri. Penelitian sebelumnya menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak daun afrika memiliki aktivitas antibakteri yang kuat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat formulasi sediaan clay mask mengandung ekstrak etanol daun afrika. Ekstraksi dilakukan dengan metode maserasi menggunakan pelarut etanol 96%. Clay mask diformulasikan menggunakan mineral clay dengan kombinasi kaolin dan bentonit. Ekstrak daun afrika tersebut diuji aktivitas antibakteri secara in vitro menggunakan metode difusi agar cara sumuran. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan adanya zona hambat pada konsentrasi 6% terhadap bakteri Propionibacterium acnes dengan rata-rata sebesar 6,66 mm dan pada konsentrasi 10% terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus menghasilkan zona hambat dengan rata-rata 11,2 mm. Formula optimum basis clay mask mengandung kaolin 40% dan bentonit 8%. Sediaan clay mask diformulasikan dengan penambahan ekstrak daun afrika dengan konsentrasi 10% (F1A). Sediaan F1A berwarna hijau pekat, memiliki konsistensi setengah padat, berbau khas ekstrak, homogen, memiliki nilai pH 6, waktu mengering selama 21 menit 31 detik dan daya sebar seluas 5,5 cm. Sediaan F1A dinyatakan stabil berdasarkan uji stabilitas penyimpanan dalam hal organoleptis, homogenitas dan nilai pH.Kata Kunci: Daun afrika, Jerawat, Uji aktivitas antibakteri, Clay mask
