Abstract. This study aims to test and provide empirical evidenceeregarding the effect of the implementation of Good Corporate Governance on the level of profitability of banking companies Iisted on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. This researchhis motivated by the fact that the decline in the level of profitability in several banking companies was caused by the relatively poor implementation of Good Corporate Governance. The research method used is an empirical method with descriptive and verification approaches, because there are variables to be explained and analyzed how much influence these variables have. Data collection is carried out through company financial reports obtained from data centers on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. Statistical data analysis used simple Iinear regression analysis, determination coefficient analysis and hypothesis testing. The results showed that based on the implementation, Good Corporate Governance has a significant effectton the level of profitability. The better Good Corporate Governance, the higher the level of profitability. The magnitude of the influence of the implementation of Good Corporate Governance on the level of profitabiIity is 73.1%. Future researchers should conduct similar research but with different sectors and with a larger number of samples so as to strengthen the results of previous studies.Keyword: Good Corporate Governance, and profitability.Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji dan memberikan bukti empiris mengenai Pengaruh implementasi Good Corporate Governance Terhadap tingkat profitabilitas pada Perusahaan Perbankan yang Terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kenyataan bahwa penurunan tingkat profitabilitas pada beberapa perusahaan perbankan disebabkan oleh implementasi Good Corporate Governance yang tergolong buruk. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode empiris dengan pendekatan deskriptif dan verifikatif, karena ada variabel yang akan dijelaskan dan dianalisa seberapa besar pengaruh dari variabel tersebut. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui laporan keuangan perusahaan yang diperoleh dari pusat data di Bursa Efek Indonesia. Analisa data statistik menggunakan analisis regresii linier sedarhana, analisis koefisien determinasi serta uji hipotesis. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa implementasi Good Corporate Governance berpengaruh signifikan terhadap tingkat profitabilitas. Semakin baik Good Corporate Governance maka akan semakin tinggi pula tingkat profitabilitas. Besarnya pengaruh implementasi Good Corporate Governance Terhadap tingkat profitabilitas adalah sebesar 73,1%. Peneliti selanjutnya sebaiknya melakukan penelitian serupa yang sama dengan sektor yang berbeda serta dengan jumlah sampel yang lebih banyak sehingga bisa memperkuat hasil penelitian-penelitian yang telah dilakukan sebelumnya.Kata Kunci: Good Corporate Governance, dan Profitabilitas. |
