Abstract. The research aims to determine the effectiveness of the Audit Committee and the complexity of the company's operations on timeliness of financial reporting. The subject in this study is a manufacturing company listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). This method of research is a descriptive method of verificative with a quantitative approach. The study uses secondary data with samples of 56 manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for an observation time range of 2016-2018 or 168 observations. Hypothesis testing using logistic regression analysis. The test results showed that the effectiveness of the Audit committee significantly influenced the positive direction towards timeliness of financial reporting. The complexity of the company's operations has no effect on timeliness of financial reporting. Suggestions for subsequent research if using the timeliness variable of financial reporting are advised to use the effectiveness index of audit Committees (Dezoort) and add other dependent variables such as Audit fee, audit quality, and company value, as well as add years of observation 5 or 6 years backwards.Keyword: Effectiveness, Audit Committee, Complexity of the Company’s Operatios, Timeliness, Financial Reporting. Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh efektivitas komite audit dan kompleksitas operasi perusahaan terhadap ketepatan waktu (timeliness) pelaporan keuangan. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah perusahaan manufaktur yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI). Metode penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif verifikatif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan data sekunder dengan sampel sebanyak 56 perusahaan manufaktur yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) untuk rentang waktu pengamatan 2016-2018 atau 168 pengamatan. Pengujian hipotesis menggunakan analisis regresi logistik. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa efektivitas komite audit berpengaruh signifikan dengan arah positif terhadap terhadap ketepatan waktu (timeliness) pelaporan keuangan. kompleksitas operasi perusahaan tidak berpengaruh terhadap ketepatan waktu (timeliness) pelaporan keuangan. Saran bagi penelitian selanjutnya jika menggunakan variabel ketepatan waktu (timeliness) pelaporan keuangan disarankan menggunakan indeks efektivitas komite audit (Dezoort) dan menambah variabel dependen lain seperti Audit fee, kualitas audit, dan nilai perusahaan, serta menambahkan tahun pengamatan 5 atau 6 tahun kebelakang.Kata kunci : Efektivitas, Komite Audit, Kompleksitas Operasi Perusahaan, Ketepatan Waktu (timeliness), Pelaporan Keuangan. |
