Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to explore the effects of cogongrass (Imperata
cylindrica L) roots ethanolic extract (CGRE) in blood trig lyceride. Mice were given CGRE
intrag astrically with dose 90 and 115 mg /kg body weig ht (BW) for two weeks. The non treatment g roup was used as a control. Trig lyceride absorption assay and trig lyceride serum level were measured at the end of treatment day. Trig lyceride absorption were reduced 60% in mice that were pre–treatment with 90 and 115 mg /kg BW CGRE compare to control (p<0.05 ). As conclusion, CGRE has an effect to reduce trig lycerides absorption in the small intestine.
