Abstract: Hoaxes evolved with the growing popularity of social media. Social media allow everybody into a publisher or news spreaders, even "news" which he had made himself, including fake news or hoax. Law enforcement that have been implemented during this apparently still running in place and has not shown progress. so law enforcement conducted law enforcers in trapping the perpetrators of this hoax as fact crime hasn't been running effectively in Indonesia. Based on these problems, then the research problems are formulated as follows: (1) how the enforcement of criminal law against the perpetrators of the hoax news spread hoax? (2) what barriers in enforcing criminal laws against the dissemination of news hoax (hoax)? Researchers Using Normative Juridical methods with desktiftif analysis and research in methods of data collection study library material law obtained is analyzed in qualitative normative. The results of this study are: (1) the enforcement of the criminal law against the perpetrators of the hoax of the law number 11 Year 2008 Jo law number 19 Year 2016 about Information and electronic transactions have not been going pretty well in Indonesia because many still crime hoaxes that have yet to be tried or enforced (2) enforcement Obstacles criminal law which has not been so clear in the crackdowns and organize specifically and unequivocally about crime hoax.Keywords : Words Law Enforcement, Hoax, UU ITEAbstrak: Hoax berkembang seiring dengan meningkatnya popularitas media sosial. Media sosial memungkinan semua orang menjadi publisher atau penyebar berita, bahkan “berita” yang dibuatnya sendiri, termasuk berita palsu atau hoax. Penegakan hukum yang telah dilaksanakan selama ini ternyata masih berjalan di tempat dan belum menunjukkan kemajuan. demikian penegakan hukum yang dilakukan para penegak hukum dalam menjerat pelaku hoax ini sebagai kejahatann nyatanya belum berjalan secara efektif di Indonesia. Peneliti Menggunakan metode Yuridis Normatif dengan penelitian desktiftif analisis dan dengan metode pengumpulan data studi kepustakaan bahan hukum yang diperoleh dianalisis secara normative kualitatif.Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah : (1) Penegakan Hukum Pidana terhadap pelaku hoax dari Undang-Undang Nomor 11 Tahun 2008 Jo Undang-Undang Nomor 19 Tahun 2016 tentang Infomasi dan Transaksi Elektronik belum berjalan cukup baik di Indonesia karena masih banyak kejahatan hoax yang belum ditegakan atau diadili (2) Hambatan Penegkaan Hukum Pidana yang belum begitu jelas dalam menindak dan mengatur secara khusus dan tegas mengenai kejahatan hoax tersebut.
