Abstract. The problem that occurs in this company is that there has been a decrease in efficiency over the past one year or so. The decrease in efficiency is caused by the number of consumers who are in arrears. The part that is responsible for dealing with arrears from consumers is the service department. Staff behavior often delayed work, TPS targets were not achieved, and so on. Although the facilities and benefits provided are adequate, most staff are not motivated to show optimal work performance. This shows that the staff has low work motivation. Motivation can be influenced by leadership. Staff interpret supervisors to be more task oriented without being close to the staff. The purpose of this study, to determine the closeness of the relationship between leadership style with work motivation. The theory used in this research is the OHIO study leadership style theory, and the Integrated Model of Motivation theory from Dennis C. Kinlaw. The hypothesis of this study, there is a relationship between leadership style and work motivation in the technical service staff of PDAM Tirta Raharja, Cimahi City branch. The subjects in this study were 16 technical service staff. This research uses a quantitative approach and the type of research is correlational. Data processing using statistics Contingency Coefficient Test C. Based on the results of statistical calculations obtained data that the correlation coefficient of the relationship between leadership style with work motivation that is equal to 0.654 with Cmax 0.707. This shows that there is a relationship with a high category between leadership style and work motivation.Keywords : Perception, Leadership Style and Work Motivation Abstrak. Permasalahan yang terjadi di perusahaan ini yaitu telah terjadi penurunan efisiensi selama kurang lebih satu tahun terakhir. Penurunan efisiensi disebabkan oleh banyaknya konsumen yang menunggak. Bagian yang bertanggung jawab dalam mengatasi tunggakan dari konsumen yaitu bagian pelayanan. Perilaku staff sering menunda pekerjaan, target TPS tidak tercapai, dan lain sebagainya. Meskipun fasilitas dan tunjangan yang diberikan sudah memadai, namun sebagian besar staff kurang terdorong untuk menunjukkan tampilan kerja yang optimal. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa staff memiliki motivasi kerja rendah. Motivasi dapat dipengaruhi oleh kepemimpinan. Staff memaknai supervisor lebih berorientasi pada tugas tanpa adanya kedekatan dengan staff. Tujuan penelitian ini, untuk mengetahui keeratan hubungan antara gaya kepemimpinan dengan motivasi kerja. Teori yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu teori gaya kepemimpinan studi OHIO, dan teori Integrated Model of Motivation dari Dennis C. Kinlaw. Hipotesis dari penelitian ini, terdapat hubungan antara gaya kepemimpinan dengan motivasi kerja pada staff pelayanan teknik PDAM Tirta Raharja cabang Kota Cimahi. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah 16 staff pelayanan teknik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan jenis penelitian yaitu korelasional. Pengolahan data menggunakan statistik Uji Koefisien Kontingensi C. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan statistik diperoleh data bahwa koefisien korelasi hubungan antara gaya kepemimpinan dengan motivasi kerja yaitu sebesar 0.654 dengan Cmax 0.707. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan dengan kategori tinggi antara gaya kepemimpinan dengan motivasi kerja.Kata kunci : Persepsi, Gaya kepemimpinan dan Motivasi Kerja |
