Abstract. Research Methodology III is one of the prerequisites for students who are facing the thesis stage. In completing Research Methodology III, many students feel unsure about the results of the process when responding to the difficulties and obstacles that exist such as difficulties in deepening their knowledge of certain phenomena, and in finding the appropriate variables and references. The uncertainty of students can undermine the effort in overcoming situations and meeting demands that can cause academic stress. Academic stress arises in four responses namely cognitive, behavioral, physical and affective. The purpose of this study is to determine how close the relationship is between Self-Efficacy and academic stress among the students at the Faculty of Psychology, Bandung Islamic University who took Research Methodology III. The method used in this study is correlational. The population in the study amounted to thirty people. The analysis technique used is Rank Spearman. Data collection has been conducted with a measurement tool made by the researcher with reference to the Self-Efficacy theory (Bandura, 1997) and academic stress (Olejnik and Holschuh, 2007). The results show a close negative relationship between Self-Efficacy and academic stress at r = -0.739. This is indicated by the fact that the lower the student's Self-Efficacy, the higher the academic stress experienced by students will be. Abstrak. Metodologi Penelitian III merupakan salah satu syarat yang harus dijalani agar mahasiswa dapat melanjutkan pada tahap skripsi. Dalam menyelesaikan Metodologi Penelitian III, banyak mahasiswa yang merasa tidak yakin dengan hasil pengerjaannya ketika menghapi kesulitan dan hambatan yang ada seperti kesulitan memperdalami fenomena, menemukan variabel yang sesuai, dan mencari referensi yang sesuai. Ketidak yakinan mahasiswa dapat mengurangi usaha dalam mengatasi situasi dan tuntutan yang dapat menimbulkan stres akademik. Stres akademik dimunculkan dalam empat respon yaitu secara cognitive, behaviour, physical dan affective. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui seberapa erat hubungan Self-Efficacy dengan stres akademik pada mahasiswa fakultas Psikologi Universitas Islam Bandung yang mengambil Metodologi Penelitian III. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah korelasional. Populasi dalam penelitian berjumlah tiga puluh orang. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah Rank Spearman. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan alat ukur yang dibuat sendiri oleh peneliti dengan mengacu pada teori Self-Efficacy (Bandura, 1997) dan Stres akademik (Olejnik dan Holschuh, 2007). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan negatif yang erat antara Self-Efficacy dengan stres akademik sebesar r= -0,739. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan semakin rendah Self-Efficacy mahasiswa maka semakin tinggi stres akademik yang dialami mahasiswa. |
