Abstract. There are still many early adult fans who admire their idols excessively in EXO L Bandung community. Maltby shows that celebrity worship is a form of behavior from the low psychological well-being. The purpose of this study was to describe the psychological well-being in early adult celebrity worship in EXO L Bandung community. This study used descriptive method. The subjects were 108 early adult fans who experienced celebrity worship in EXO L Bandung community. The instrument is Psychological Well-Being Scale (Carol D. Ryff, 1989). The instrument has 84 valid items based on the Cronbach's Alpha norm. Based on the results of pre survey, early adult fans were at the stage of moderate celebrity worship with the highest number (61.12%) and 100% have a low psychological well-being. The result of this study is all the research subjects had a low psychological well-being.Keyword: Psychological Well-Being, Celebrity Worship, Early Adult.Abstrak. Ditemukan banyak penggemar dewasa awal yang mengagumi idolanya secara berlebihan pada komunitas EXO L Bandung. Menurut Maltby celebrity worship merupakan bentuk perilaku dari rendahnya psychological well-being. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah memperoleh gambaran psychological well-being pada celebrity worship dewasa awal di komunitas EXO L Bandung. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi deskriptif. Subjek penelitian sebanyak 108 orang penggemar dewasa awal yang mengalami celebrity worship di komunitas EXO L Bandung. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah Psychological Well-Being Scale (Carol D. Ryff, 1989) yang sudah di translasi oleh Angger Zheng, S.Psi yang terdiri dari 72 item valid berdasarkan norma Cronbach’s Alpha. Berdasarkan hasil pra survey, penggemar dewasa awal berada pada tahap celebrity worship sedang dengan jumlah terbanyak sebesar 61,12% dan memiliki psychological well-being yang rendah yaitu 100%. Dilihat dari hasil pengolahan data menggunakan analisis deskriptif dengan metode statistik persentase diperoleh data, yaitu seluruh subjek penelitian sejumlah 108 subjek memiliki psychological well-being yang rendah, artinya mereka tidak dapat menerima dirinya secara keseluruhan, tidak dapat menjalin hubungan yang hangat dan positif dengan orang lain, tidak dapat menentukan nasibnya sendiri tanpa bergantung dengan orang lain dan tidak dapat mengontrol kondisi lingkungannya.Keyword: Psychological Well-Being, Celebrity Worship,Dewasa Awal. |
