Abstract. Women are very closely associated with appearance and body issues, many women who use a variety of ways in order to get the desired body, one way is by diet. This study aims to look at quantitative data on the relationship between body image and dieting behaviors in adult women early in Bandung. This study was correlational research with a total sample of 80 respondents. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Data was collected by distributing questionnaires were constructed from the theory of body image (Cash, 2002) with the results of the reliability value is 0,829 and the value of the validity of 17 items. Furthermore, to the measuring instrument unhealthy dietary behaviors (Kim & Lennon, 2006) has a reliability value of 0.860 and the validity of 8 items. Based on the test results of the data, obtained a significant negative correlation between variables 1 and 2 (r = -0.479, P = 0.000). According to the results showed: (1) There is a positive relationship between body image and unhealthy dietary behaviors on the aspects of appearance orientation of body image and unhealthy dietary behaviors. (2) There is a positive correlation between aspects of the categorization of body size, body image with behavior unhealthy diet (3) There is a negative relationship between aspects of the evaluation of the appearance of body image and behavior unhealthy diet (4) There is a negative relationship between satisfaction areas of the body body image unhealthy dietary behaviors. (5) There is a negative correlation between the over / underweight body image and unhealthy dietary behavior obtained a significant negative correlation between variables 1 and 2 (r = -0.479, P = 0.000).Keywords: Body image, diet, early adult women Abstract. Perempuan sangat erat kaitannya dengan masalah penampilan dan tubuh, banyak perempuan yang menggunakan berbagai macam cara agar mendapatkan tubuh yang diinginkan, salah satu caranya yaitu dengan cara diet. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat data secara kuantitatif dari hubungan antara body image dengan perilaku diet pada perempuan dewasa awal di Kota Bandung. Penelitian ini penelitian korelasional dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 80 orang responden. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menyebarkan kuesioner yang dikonstruksi dari teori body image (Cash, 2002) dengan hasil nilai reliabilitas adalah 0,829 serta nilai validitas sebesar 17 item. Selanjutnya untuk alat ukur perilaku diet tidak sehat (Kim & Lennon, 2006) memiliki nilai reliabilitas 0,860 dan nilai validitas 8 item. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian data, diperoleh hubungan negatif yang signifikan antara variabel 1 dan 2 (r = -0,479. P =0,000). Menurut hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) Terdapat hubungan positif antara body image dengan perilaku diet tidak sehat pada aspek orientasi penampilan body image dengan perilaku diet tidak sehat. (2) Terdapat hubungan positif antara aspek pengkategorian ukuran tubuh body image dengan perilaku diet tidak sehat (3) Adanya hubungan yang negatif antara aspek evaluasi penampilan body image dengan perilaku diet tidak sehat (4) Terdapat hubungan yang negatif antara kepuasan area tubuh body image dengan perilaku diet tidak sehat. (5) Terdapat hubungan negatif antara kelebihan/ kekurangan berat badan body image dengan perilaku diet tidak sehat .Kata kunci : Body image, diet, Perempuan dewasa awal |
