Abstract. Appropriatewith the rules applied, adolescents at PSAA X Bandung who have completed high school education will be returned to the responsible trustee or in other words they will leave the orphanage. In order that teenagers can live independently, it is important for them to be able to makee plan for the future of their work which is called the future orientation of work. One factor that can play a role in how adolescents think and plan about their future work is self esteem. The purpose of this study was to find out how close the relationship between Self-steem and the future orientation of work in high school adolescents at PSAA X Bandung. This study used a population study of 32 high school adolescents. The measure of self-esteem used was self-liking and competence scale revised (SLCS-R) from Tafarodi & Swann (2001) with 16 valid items. For measuring the future orientation of the field of work constructed by researchers based on the theory of Nurmi (1991) which consists of 40 valid items. Processing data using statistical methods with Rank Spearman correlation test. Based on the results of the correlation test, obtained rs = 0.462 which means there is a positive and significant relation between self-steem and future orientation of work in high school adolescents at Children's Social Care Taman Harapan Bandung. Then obtained 59% of high school adolescents have low self esteem and 56% have unclear future orientation of Work.Keywords: Self esteem, Future Orientation, High School AdolescentsAbstrak. Sesuai dengan peraturan yang diterapkan, remaja di PSAA X Bandung yang sudah menyelesaikan jenjang pendidikan SMA akan dikembalikan kepada wali yang bertanggung jawab atau dalam kata lain akan meninggalkan panti asuhan. Sehingga agar remaja dapat hidup mandiri, penting bagi mereka untuk dapat merencanakan masa depan pekerjaannya yang disebut orientasi masa depan bidang pekerjaan. Salah satu faktor yang dapat berperan pada bagaimana remaja memikirkan dan merencanakan mengenai pekerjaan di masa depannya adalah self esteem. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui seberapa erat hubungan antara Self-steem dan Orientasi masa depan bidang pekerjaan pada remaja SMA di PSAA X Bandung. Penelitian ini menggunakan studi populasi yang berjumlah 32 orang remaja SMA. Alat ukur self-esteem yang digunakan adalah self-liking and competence scale revised (SLCS-R) dari Tafarodi & Swann (2001) dengan 16 item yang valid. Untuk alat ukur orientasi masa depan bidang pekerjaan dikonstruksikan oleh peneliti berdasarkan teori Nurmi (1991) yang terdiri dari 40 item yang valid. Pengolahan data menggunakan metode statistik dengan uji korelasi Rank Spearman. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan uji korelasi, diperoleh rs=0.462 yang berarti terdapat hubungan positif dan signifikan antara self-steem dan orientasi masa depan bidang pekerjaan pada remaja SMA di PSAA X Bandung. Kemudian diperoleh data 59% dari remaja SMA memiliki self esteem yang rendah dan 56% memiliki orientasi masa depan bidang pekerjaan yang tidak jelas.Kata kunci : Self esteem, Orientasi Masa Depan, Remaja SMA |
