Abstract. Muhammadiyah 4 Senior High School is one of high-quality private schools that obtained A accreditation. For this reason, there is assumption that the students of Muhammadiyah 4 Senior High School can follow the learning process well. However, class XI students get difficulties in doing the task according to the deadline. They are afraid of making mistake in doing the task and think that the task is difficult. This shows that they have low self-efficacy. As a result, when they get the task, they prefer to postpone completing tasks, avoid difficult tasks, get the delays in doing the task and do more fun activities. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to find out how closely the relationship between self-efficacy and academic procrastination in class XI students of Muhammadiyah 4 Margahayu Senior High School in Kabupaten Bandung. This research is used quantitative research with correlational methods. The methods of collecting data in this study are using questionnaires developed by researchers based on aspects of procrastination from Ferrari (1995) and questionnaires self-efficacy developed by researchers based on aspects self-efficacy of Bandura (1997). This study is a population study with a total subject of 73 students. The results of the correlation analysis is R = -0.600. This shows that there is a strong negative relationship with high significance between self-efficacy and academic procrastination in students of class XI Muhammadiyah 4 Senior High School in Kabupaten Bandung. It means that the lower the self-efficacy, the higher the academic procrastination in class XI students of Muhammadiyah 4 Margahayu High School Bandung Regency.Keywords: Self Efficacy, Academic Procrastination, Senior High School StudentsAbstrak. SMA Muhammadiyah 4 merupakan salah satu sekolah swasta yang bermutu tinggi, hal ini dapat dilihat SMA Muhammadiyah 4 merupakan salah satu sekolah swasta bermutu tinggi karena berakreditasi A. Sehingga, terjadi asumsi bahwa siswa SMA Muhammadiyah 4 dapat mengikuti proses belajar dengan baik. Akan tetapi siswa kelas XI merasa kesulitan dalam mengerjakan tugas sesuai batas waktu yang ditentukan. Mereka merasa takut salah dalam mengerjakan tugas dan merasa tugas tersebut sulit, hal ini menunjukkan mereka memeiliki self efficacy yang rendah. Kondisi tersebut kemudian menjadikan mereka menunda menyelesaikan tugas, menghindari tugas yang sulit, mengalami keterlambatan dalam mengerjakan tugas serta memilih melakukan kegiatan lain yang lebih menyenangkan ketika mendapatkan tugas. Oleh karena itu, tujuan dilakukakannya penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui seberapa erat hubungan antara self efficacy dengan prokastinasi akademik pada siswa kelas XI SMA Muhammadiyah 4 Margahayu Kabupaten Bandung. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan kuisioner yang dikembangkan oleh peneliti berdasarkan aspek-aspek prokrastinasi dari Ferrari (1995) dan kuisioner self efficacy yang dikembangkan sendiri oleh peneliti berdasarkan aspek-aspek self efficacy dari Bandura (1997). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian populasi dengan jumlah subjek sebanyak 73 siswa. Hasil analisis korelasi diperoleh adalah R = -0,600. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan negatif yang cukup kuat dengan signifikansi yang tinggi antara self efficacy dengan prokastinasi akademik pada siswa kelas XI SMA Muhammadiyah 4 Kabupaten Bandung. Artinya, semakin rendah self efficacy maka semakin tinggi prokrastinasi akademik pada siswa kelas XI SMA Muhammadiyah 4 Margahayu Kabupaten Bandung.Kata Kunci: Self Efficacy, Prokrastinasi Akademik, Siswa SMA |
