Abstract. Work done manually provides physical ability demands, if work has exceeded physical capacity and will cause excessive fatigue and can adversely affect work health, can even trigger the failure of important bodily functions that end in death. Home knitting socks industry is an industry engaged in the manufacture of women's socks made from yarn. Problems that often occur are production delays and overloading at the sock merging work station caused by ineffective work methods. Therefore this research is to optimize the processing time of socks production so that the company is able to achieve the specified production targets. The method used is the Time Measurement Method (MTM) which is used to determine the processing time based on the results of a motion study. The result, is used to improve work methods, work layouts, and production process time. The stages of this study began with the collection of company working hours data, operator work elements, and equipment layout. Then the calculation phase of the measurement using MTM analyzes the data and finally the working method improvement. The results of data processing using MTM obtained production time of 1.5049 minutes. After improving work methods, working layouts, and optimizing operator movements, saving time for the sock production process is 0.9469 minutes. In addition to saving production process time, there is a percentage of production recall at each work station. Keywords: Movement Study, Work Elements, Work Methods, Method Time Measurement (MTM). Abstrak. Pekerjaan yang dilakukan secara manual memberikan tuntutan kemampuan fisik, jika pekerjaan telah melampaui kapasitas fisik maka akan menyebabkan terjadinya kelelahan berlebih dan dapat berpengaruh buruk pada kesehatan kerja, bahkan dapat memicu kegagalan fungsi-fungsi penting tubuh yang berakhir dengan kematian. Home industry kaos kaki rajut adalah industri yang bergerak di bidang pembuatan kaos kaki wanita yang berbahan dasar benang. Permasalahan yang sering terjadi yaitu keterlambatan produksi dan beban berlebih di stasiun kerja penggabungan kaos kaki yang disebabkan oleh metode kerja yang kurang efektif. Oleh karena itu penelitian ini adalah untuk mengoptimalkan waktu proses produksi kaos kaki agar perusahaan mampu mencapai target produksi yang ditetapkan. Metode yang digunakan adalah Method Time Measurement (MTM) yang digunakan untuk mengetahui waktu proses berdasarkan hasil studi gerakan. Hasilnya, digunakan untuk memperbaiki metode kerja, layout kerja, dan waktu proses produksi. Adapun tahapan penelitian ini dimulai dari pengumpulan data jam kerja perusahaan, elemen kerja operator, dan tata letak peralatan. Kemudian tahap perhitungan pengukuran menggunakan MTM menganalisis data dan terakhir perbaikan metode kerja. Hasil pengolahan data menggunakan MTM diperoleh waktu proses produksi sebesar 1,5049 menit. Setelah dilakukan perbaikan metode kerja, layout kerja, dan mengoptimalkan gerakan operator diperoleh penghematan waktu proses produksi kaos kaki menjadi 0,9469 menit. Selain menghemat waktu proses produksi terdapat persentase peningatan produksi pada setiap stasiun kerja. Kata Kunci: Studi Gerakan, Elemen Kerja, Metode Kerja, Method Time Measurement (MTM). |
