dc.description Abstract. According to Lickona, to implement character education in children, it is necessary to teach two main moral values, namely an attitude of respect and responsibility, and requires a school with character as a culture and a community that cares for children's character. The government launched a character education program to prepare the nation's children as quality human resources capable of facing more difficult challenges in the future, through Strengthening Character Education and Bandung Masagi, especially in Bandung City. Mutiara Hati Islamic Elementary School, Bandung City has implemented the Bandung Masagi program. The purpose of this study was to find a description of the implementation of the value of respect and responsibility character education implemented by SD Islam Mutiara Hati, Bandung City. This research uses quantitative methods with descriptive studies, using a subject as many as 77 people, 24 adults and 53 students. The method of data collection in this research is using random sampling technique. The measuring instruments used were the adapted School As A Caring Community Profile-II and Respect and Responsibility School Culture Survey from Lickona. The results of this study found that the implementation of the value of respect and responsibility character education in Mutiara Hati Bandung Islamic Elementary School can be said to have been good with a high category average, although there are still several aspects that need to be improved. Aspects that need to be improved include, Student Respect, Student Friendship and Belonging, Student Shaping of Their Environment, and bullying.Keywords: Implementation, Character Education, Elementary School.Abstrak. Menurut Lickona untuk menerapkan pendidikan karakter pada anak perlu mengajarkan dua nilai moralitas utama yaitu sikap respek dan tanggung jawab, dan membutuhkan sekolah berkarakter sebagai budaya dan komunitas yang peduli terhadap karakter anak. Pemerintah mencanangkan program pendidikan karakter untuk mempersiapkan anak bangsa sebagai kualitas sumber daya manusia yang mampu menghadapi tantangan yang lebih sulit di masa depan, melalui Penguatan Pendidikan Karakter dan Bandung Masagi khususnya di Kota Bandung. SD Islam Mutiara Hati Kota Bandung telah menerapkan program Bandung Masagi tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menemukan gambaran pelaksanaan implementasi nilai pendidikan karakter respek dan tanggung jawab yang diterapkan oleh SD Islam Mutiara Hati Kota Bandung. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan studi deskriptif, menggunakan subjek sebanyak 77 orang, 24 orang dewasa dan 53 siswa. Metode pengambilan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan teknik random sampling. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah School As A Caring Community Profile-II dan Respect and Responsibility School Culture Survey dari Lickona yang sudah diadaptasi. Hasil penelitian ini menemukan bahwa implementasi nilai pendidikan karakter respek dan tanggung jawab di SD Islam Mutiara Hati Bandung dapat dikatakan sudah baik dengan rata-rata kategori tinggi, meskipun masih terdapat beberapa aspek yang perlu ditingkatkan lagi. Aspek-aspek yang perlu ditingkatkan lagi diantaranya adalah, Student Respect, Student Friendship and Belonging, Student Shaping of Their Environment, dan perundungan.
