Abstract. The number of Academic Cheating continues to increase every year can be seen from the increase in cases of National Examination every year and West Java is included in the province which is included in the increase in cases of academic cheating during the National Examination (Alfons, 2019). Academic cheating can occur because students are not sure of their abilities when they encounter obstacles so they quickly give up and choose shortcuts to get good results. This study aims to determine how closely the relationship between self-efficacy and academic cheating in high school students in Bandung City. Self-efficacy is measured by the General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSE) constructed by Matthias Jerussalem and Ralf Schwazer (1995). Meanwhile, academic cheating is measured by an academic cheating questionnaire by Indri Lestari (2018) based on Cizek's theory (2003). The population in this study were high school students in Bandung. The number of samples in this study were 439 students, the sampling technique used was cluster random sampling. The data analysis technique used is the Spearman rank correlation. The results of this study indicate -0.428 and the sig. amounting to 0,000, meaning that there is a significant negative relationship between self-efficacy and academic cheating, including in a moderate level of relationship, which means that the higher the self-efficacy, the lower the academic cheating and the lower the self-efficacy, the higher the academic cheating.Keywords:Academic Cheating, Self efficacy, High School Students in BandungAbstrak. Angka Kecurangan Akademik terus meningkat setiap tahun dapat dilihat dari meningkatnya kasus Ujian Nasional tiap tahun dan Jawa Barat termasuk ke dalam provinsi yang termasuk kedalam meningkatnya kasus kecurangan akademik selama Ujian Nasional (Alfons,2019). Kecurangan akademik dapat terjadi karena siswa tidak yakin dengan kemampuan yang dimilikinya saat menemukan hambatan sehingga mereka menjadi cepat menyerah dan memilih jalan pintas untuk memperoleh hasil yang baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa erat hubungan antara self-efficacy dengan kecurangan akademik pada siswa SMA Kota Bandung. Self-efficacy diukur dengan General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSE) yang dikonstruksikan oleh Matthias Jerussalem dan Ralf Schwazer (1995). Sedangkan kecurangan akademik diukur dengan kuesioner kecurangan akademik oleh Indri Lestari (2018) berdasarkan teori Cizek (2003). Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah Siswa SMA Kota Bandung. Jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 439 siswa, teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah cluster random sampling. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dengan korelasi rank spearman. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan -0,428 dan nilai sig. sebesar 0,000, artinya terdapat hubungan negatif signifikan antara self-efficacy dengan kecurangan akademik termasuk dalam tingkat hubungan sedang yang berarti semakin tinggi self efficacy maka semakin rendah kecurangan akademik dan semakin rendah self efficacy maka semakin tinggi kecurangan akademik.Kata kunci: Kecurangan Akademik, Self efficacy, Siswa SMA Kota Bandung |
