dc.description Abstract. Corona virus or COVID-19 was first discovered in Indonesia in March 2020. The Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) in Microbiology (Patrick, 2020), explained that Indonesia is ranked the second highest in the world, the percentage of the death rate of corona virus cases with a rate of 49 out of 579 cases or about 8.46% while the first rank was Italy with a mortality rate of 9.51%. high government enforced new rules in order to break the chain of virus spread, namely Social distancing and Self Quarantine where people have to limit activities outside the home. According to the National Tobacco Control Committee, it is revealed that the COVID-19 pandemic has not changed smoking behavior at all, it is even likely to increase (Tempo, 2020). The World Health Organization recommends that efforts to reduce exposure to COVID-19 are by limiting social interactions and also stopping smoking behavior because smoking can make a person at risk of being exposed to COVID-19 (WHO). Based on a pre-survey of 20 students and female students in Bandung regarding their smoking behavior during COVID-19 with an age range of 18-24 years. The result was that 15 (7 women and 8 men) out of 20 students admitted that they continued to smoke even though they knew that the risk of smoking itself could increase the chances of being exposed to COVID-19 and as many as 8 male students admitted that their smoking intensity was getting higher.Keyword: social anxiety, loneliness, smoking behavior, COVID-19 pandemicAbstrak.
