dc.description Abstract. Candida albicans is a microflora of the body which can be pathogens when the body’s immunity decreases that resulting in infection. This infection could be handling by antifungal. As for some antifungal activity plants to Candida albicans are spice plants such as onion, garlic, turmeric, cinnamon, and lemongrass. The purpose of this study is to determine the antifungal activity of some species of the spice plants to Candida albicans and to determine secondary metabolite compounds of antifungal to Candida albicans. The method of this research is reviewing literature that published both nationally and internationally. According to the result of reviewing journals that some species of the spice plants that had an antifungal activity to Candida albicans are 50% onion extract, 150 μg / mL garlic water extract, 1% ethanol extract of cinnamon essential oil, and 2 μL of lemongrass essential oil extract included into the strong category, whereas 25% ethanol extract of garlic, 20 mg / mL; 12.5%; and 50% of turmeric ethanol extract was included in the weak category, and 20% extract of cinnamon essential oil and 0.5 μg / mL of lemongrass essential oil extract were included in the very strong category. The secondary metabolite compounds contained in the spice plant and had antifungal activities include essential oils, alkaloids, flavonoids, phenols, saponins, and tannin.Keywords: Spice plant, Candida albicans, Antifungal activity.Abstrak.Candida albicans merupakan mikroflora normal tubuh yang dapat bersifat patogen saat imunitas tubuh menurun sehingga dapat menyebabkan infeksi. Infeksi ini dapat diatasi dengan antijamur, adapun tanaman yang telah terbukti memiliki aktivitas antijamur terhadap Candida albicans diantaranya yaitu tanaman rempah seperti bawang merah, bawang putih, kunyit, kayu manis, dan serai dapur. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui aktivitas antijamur beberapa jenis tanaman rempah terhadap Candida albicans serta mengetahui golongan senyawa yang bersifat antijamur terhadap Candida albicans. Adapun metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu dengan mengkaji beberapa pustaka yang telah terpublikasi baik secara nasional maupun internasional. Berdasarkan hasil kajian jurnal bahwa beberapa jenis tanaman rempah yang memiliki aktivitas antijamur terhadap Candida albicans yaitu 50% ekstrak bawang merah, 150 μg/ mL ekstrak air bawang putih, 1% esktrak etanol minyak atsiri kayu manis, dan 2 μL  ekstrak minyak atsiri serai  termasuk ke dalam kategori kuat, sedangkan 25%  ekstrak etanol bawang putih, 20 mg/mL; 12,5%; dan 50% ekstrak etanol kunyit termasuk ke dalam kategori lemah, serta 20% esktrak minyak atsiri kayu manis dan 0,5 μg/mL ekstrak minyak atsiri serai termasuk kategori sangat kuat. Adapun senyawa metabolit sekunder yang terkandung didalam tanaman rempah dan memiliki aktivitas antijamur diantaranya yaitu minyak atsiri, alkaloid, flavonoid, fenol, saponin, dan tannin.Kata Kunci: Tanaman rempah, Candida albicans, Aktivitas antijamur.
