Abstract. Intellectual capital is the sum of all intangible assets owned by the company, either intellectual material or intellectual property that can help companies to compete based on knowledge. but in reality, there are still many companies that still use conventional based to manage their companies so that the products produced are still poor in technology content. On company size variables, the phenomenon that occurs is that at present the company still prioritizes the creation of high profits and assets compared to knowledge that is able to create added value for the company. at the age of the company the phenomenon that occurs is the age of the company is currently experiencing a faster death due to lack of ability to use technology and knowledge. This study aims to determine the effect of company size and company age on the performance of intellectual capital. The sample used was a food and beverage sub-sector manufacturing company in the 2016-2018 period using a descriptive verification method with a quantitative approach and the technique used was purposive sampling, resulting in 11 companies as units of analysis. the results of this study indicate that company size negatively influences intellectual capital performance. the age of the company affects the performance of intellectual capital.Keywords : firm size, firm age, intellectual capital performance Abstrak. Intellectual capital adalah jumlah dari seluruh asset tidak berwujud yang dimiliki oleh perusahaan, baik intellectual material atau intellectual property yang dapat membantu perusahaan untuk berkompetisi berdasarkan pada pengetahuan. Namun pada kenyataanya, masih banyak perusahaan yang masih menggunakan conventional based untuk mengelola perusahaannya sehingga produk yang dihasilkan masih miskin kandungan teknologi. Pada variabel ukuran perusahaan, fenomena yang terjadi adalah pada saat ini perusahaan masih mengedepankan penciptaan laba dan aset yang tinggi dibandingkan pengetahuan yang mampu menciptakan nilai tambah bagi perusahaan. Pada umur perusahaan fenomena yang terjadi adalah umur perusahaan saat ini lebih cepat mengalami kematian dikarenakan kurangnya kemampuan pemanfaatan teknologi dan pengetahuan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh ukuran perusahaan dan umur perusahaan terhadap kinerja intellectual capital. Sampel yang digunakan adalah perusahaan manufaktur sub sektor makanan dan minuman pada periode 2016-2018 dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif verifikatif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan teknik yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling, sehingga menghasilkan 11 perusahaan sebagai unit analisis. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ukuran perusahaan berpengaruh negatif terhadap kinerja intellectual capital. Umur perusahaan berpengaruh terhadap kinerja intellectualcapital.Kata kunci : ukuran perusahaan, umur perusahaan, kinerja intellectual capital |
