Abstract. Academic cheating can occur because students are unsure of their abilities when they find obstacles so they quickly give up and choose another way to get good results. This study aims to see how strong the relation between academic self-efficacy and academic cheating on students of the Faculty of Psychology in X University. Academic self-efficacy is measured by the Academic Self-Efficacy Scale (ASE) constructed by Zajacova, Lynch, and Espenshade (2005), while academic cheating was measured by an academic cheating questionnaire constructed by researchers. The population in this study were students of the Faculty of Psychology X University with a GPA under 3,00 who did academic cheating. The number of samples in this study were 65 students, and the sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Data analysis method used is Rank Spearman correlation test. The result of this study showed r= -0,560 and p=0,000. It means there is a fairly close negative and significant relation between academic self-efficacy and academic cheating.Keywords: Academic Self-Efficacy, Academic Cheating, College Students.Abstrak. Kecurangan akademik dapat terjadi karena mahasiswa tidak yakin dengan kemampuan yang dimilikinya saat menemukan hambatan sehingga mereka menjadi cepat menyerah dan memilih jalan pintas untuk memperoleh hasil yang baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa erat hubungan antara academic self-efficacy dengan kecurangan akademik pada mahasiswa Fakultas Psikologi Universitas X. Academic self-efficacy diukur dengan Academic Self-Efficacy Scale (ASE) yang dikonstruksikan oleh Zajacova,Lynch, dan Espenshade (2005). Sedangkan kecurangan akademik diukur dengan kuesioner kecurangan akademik yang dikonstruksikan oleh peneliti. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Fakultas Psikologi Universitas X dengan IPK < 3,00 yang melakukan kecurangan akademik. Jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 65 mahasiswa, teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling. Metode analisis data yang digunakan dengan uji korelasi rank spearman. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan r= -0,560 dengan p = 0,000, artinya terdapat hubungan negatif signifikan yang cukup erat antara academic self-efficacy dengan kecurangan akademik.Kata Kunci: Academic Self-Efficacy, Kecurangan Akademik, Mahasiswa |
