Abstract. The use of plants in the treatment of various diseases has been widely carried out, one of which caused by fungi. One of fungus species which may cause various types of infections is Candida albicans. Based on previous research, gooseberry plant contains flavonoid, tannin and saponin. In this study a test was conducted to determine the antifungal activity of the gooseberry leaf ethanol extract using the diffusion method, minimum inhibition concentration (MIC) level, using using agar dilution method, and equality of gooseberry leaf extract with standard. The results obtained from the study, namely, the ethanol extract of the gooseberry leaf has antifungal activity at a concentration of 12.5-25% with an average inhibition diameter of 5.8-7.93 mm, the MIC value of the obtained gooseberry ethanol extract is 9%, and the value of equality of ketoconazole against the fungi of Candida albicans is 1 mg of ethanol extract of the ceremai setra leaves with 1,052 x 10-4 mg of ketoconazole.Keywords : gooseberry leaf , candida albicans, ketoconazole,antifungalAbstrak. Penggunaan tanaman dalam pengobatan berbagai penyakit telah banyak dilakukan, salah satunya yaitu penyakit yang disebabkan oleh fungi. Salah satu spesies jamur yang dapat menyebabkan berbagai jenis infeksi adalah Candida albicans. Bedarsarkan penelitian sebelumnya, tanaman ceremai mengandung senyawa kimia flavonoid, tannin, dan saponin. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan pengujian untuk mengetahui aktivitas antifungi ekstrak etanol daun ceremai dengan menggunakan metode difusi, nilai konsentrasi hambat minimum (KHM) menggunakan metode pengenceran agar, serta kesetaraan ekstrak daun cemremai dengan pembanding. Hasil yang diperoleh dari pengujian yaitu, ekstrak etanol daun ceremai memiliki aktivitas antifungi pada konsentrasi 12,5-25% dengan rata-rata diameter hambat 5,8-7,93 mm, nilai KHM ekstrak etanol daun ceremai yang diperoleh adalah 9%, serta nilai kesetaraan ketokonazol terhadap fungi Candida albicans adalah 1 mg ekstrak etanol daun ceremai setra dengan 1,052 x 10-4 mg ketokonazol.Kata Kunci : Daun ceremai , candida albicans, ketokonazol,antifungi |
