Abstract. The rise of the use of "South Jakarta Children's Language Style" outside the Jakarta area, especially among young people in the city of Bandung, can be said because of speakers who move to Bandung. The presence of social media that reviews about this linguistic phenomenon, supports the formation of popular culture among young people. Based on these phenomena, the problems in this study are formulated as follows: (1) What are the motives (2) What is the meaning of the Expressive Image Trend of "South Jakarta Children's Language Style" among Bandung students ?. This research method is phenomenology, with a qualitative research approach. Data collection techniques used in this study were field observations andin-depth interviews. The results of the study, obtained a description that: (1) The motives of language speakers in past experience (because of motive); because it follows AIESEC, follows English-language activities, is educated by parents from an early age, influenced by the environment, International-based education. There are also future motives (In-order-to-motive);so that people are more aware of speaking English, for existence, for mingles, so as not to forget English, totrigger people who speak English. (2) The meaning of the speakers for; forming characteristics, forming self-image (well-known and well-educated), emphasizing social status, showing equality of groups. Maraknya penggunaan “Gaya Bahasa Anak Jaksel” di luar daerah Jakarta khususnya di kalangan anak muda kota Bandung, dapat dikatakan karena adanya penutur yang bergerak ke Bandung. Kehadiran media sosial yang mengulas tentang fenomena kebahasaan ini, mendukung terbentuknya budaya popular di kalangan anak muda. Berdasarkan fenomena tersebut, permasalahan dalam penelitian ini dirumuskan sebagai berikut: (1) Bagaimana motif (2) Bagaimana makna Citra Ekspresif Trend ”Gaya Bahasa Anak Jaksel” di kalangan mahasiswa Bandung?. Metode penelitian ini adalah fenomenologi, dengan jenis penelitian pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah observasi lapangan dan wawancara mendalam (in-depth interview). Hasil penelitian, diperoleh gambaran bahwa: (1) Motif para penutur bahasa dalam pengalaman masa lalu (because motive); karena mengikuti AIESEC, mengikuti kegiatan berbahasa Inggris, didikan orang tua sejak dini, terpengaruh lingkungan, pendidikan berbasis Internasional. Ada pula motif masa datang (In-order-to-motive);agar orang-orang lebih aware berbahasa inggris, untuk eksistensi, untuk mingle, agar tak lupa bahasa inggris, untuk nge-trigger orang-orang berbahasa Inggris. (2) Makna para penutur untuk; membentuk ciri khas, membentuk citra diri (terkenal dan berpendidikan baik), mempertegas status sosial, menunjukan kesetaraan kelompok. Sehingga menumbuhkan sosok pemimpin dalam konteks berbahasa dalam suatu kelompok.Kata Kunci: Trend “Gaya Bahasa Anak Jaksel”, Motif, Makna, Citra Ekspresif. |
