Abstract. The title of this research is the role of interpersonal communication between laboratory assistants and students in improve material understanding the aims of this research are to know how the role of communication conducted by laboratory assistant and student in improve material understanding. The research used two method in this research. The first method is the effectiveness of Interpersonal communication expressed by Joseph A. Devito with indicators of openness, empathy, supportiveness, positiveness, and equality. The second is internal and external group theory of Homans with indicator of activities, interactions and feeling. Researcher also used descriptive quantitative method. Technique collection data of this research used questionnaire. Research get the number of student population who took the course of communication technology development from multimedia laboratory as much as 381 students, from the population is taken a sample of 100 respondent based on calculations performed using the solvin formula. Based on data taken from 100 respondent, the researchers got the conclution that interpersonal communication and group communication conducted by the assistant of multimedia laboratory with the student is good.Keywords: interpersonal communication, group communication, Laboratory Assistant and student Abstrak. Penelitian ini berjudul Peran Komunikasi Antarpribadi Asisten Laboratorium dan Mahasiswa dalam Meningkatkan Pemahaman Materi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana peran komunikasi antarpribadi yang dilakukan oleh asisten laboratorium dan mahasiswa dalam meningkatkan pemahaman materi. Peneliti meneliti hal ini dengan menggunakan dua teori, teori pertaman yakni efektivitas komunikasi antarpribadi yang dikemukakan oleh Joseph A. Devito dengan indikator keterbukaan, empati, sikap mendukung, sikap positif dan kesetaraan. Kedua, teori sistem internal dan eksternal kelompok dari Homans dengan indikator kegiatan, interaksi dan perasaan. Peneliti menggunakan metode kuantitatif deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah angket. Peneliti mendapatkan jumlah populasi mahasiswa yang mengambil mata kuliah Perkembangan Teknologi Komunikasi dari laboratorium multimedia sebanyak 381 mahasiswa, dari populasi tersebut diambil sampel sebanyak 100 responden berdasarkan perhitungan yang dilakukan menggunakan rumus Slovin. Berdasarkan data yang diambil dari 100 responden, peneliti mendapat kesimpulan bahwa komunikasi antarpribadi dan komunikasi kelompok yang dilakukan oleh asisten laboratorium multimedia dengan mahasiswa sudah baik.Kata Kunci: Komunkasi Antarpribadi, Komunikasi Kelompok, Asisten Laboratorium dan Mahasiswa |
