Abstract. Body mass index (BMI) is a measurement to indicate nutritional status in adults. In prediction,the system of medical education system can increase the psychological effect such as stress. Stress can influence the nutritional status categories such as underweight and overweight, which can increase the risk of infectious and non-communicable diseases respectively. One of the efforts to prevent the disease is to manage stress. The purpose of the research was to analyze the relationship between stress level and body mass index among medical students at Universitas Islam Bandung. The design of the research is an observational analytical study with cross sectional approach. The measurement of stress level was done using Perceived Stress Scale-10. The study had been conducted from March to May, with sample size of 115 students was obtained. The results were analyzed using chi-square statistical test and showed, no significant relationship between stress level with a person’s condition whether it is underweight or overweight (punderweight = 0,47, poverweight = 0,25).Keywords: Body Mass Index, Medical Student, Stress Level.Abstrak. Indeks massa tubuh (IMT) adalah pengukuran untuk menunjukkan status gizi pada orang dewasa. Tekanan pendidikan pada mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran diduga dapat menimbukan stress dan stress dapat mempengaruhi status gizi seperti underweight dan overweight yang dapat menyebabkan peningkatan risiko penyakit infeksi dan penyakit tidak menular. Salah satu upaya pencegahan penyakit tersebut adalah kelola stres. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara tingkat stres dengan indeks massa tubuh pada mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Islam Bandung. Jenis penelitian adalah analitik observasional dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Pengukuran tingkat stres menggunakan Perceived Stress Scale-10. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Maret hingga Mei dan didapatkan sampel sebesar 115 orang. Hasil penelitian dianalisis dengan uji statistik chi-square. Tidak terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara tingkat stres dengan IMT underweight atau overweight (p underweight = 0,47, p overweight = 0,25).Kata kunci: Indeks Massa Tubuh, Mahasiswa Kedokteran, Tingkat Stres
