Abstract. The phenomenon is taken from a company that has a high CSR cost but the level of sales decreases. This study aims to determine the cost of corporate social responsibility (CSR), financial performance and the effect of CSR costs on financial performance in manufacturing companies in the consumer goods industry sector listed on the Stock Exchange in 2015-2018 by using verification research with a quantitative approach. The population in this study are manufacturing companies in the consumer goods industry which are listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2015-2018. The sampling technique in this study was purposive sampling. The sample in this study was manufacturing companies in the consumer goods industry sector that did not disclose the costs of corporate social responsibility (CSR). Testing the hypothesis used in this study using simple linear regression analysis. Hypothesis testing shows the cost of CSR has increased which shows that the company has implemented programs and corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities. Furthermore, testing the hypothesis of financial performance experienced a fluctuation in which in 2015-2016 the trend was decreasing, whereas from 2017-2018 there was an increasing trend. Therefore the results of the hypothesis indicate that the cost of corporate social responsibility (CSR) affects financial performance as measured by Return on Assets (ROA).Keys Words : corporate social responsibility (CSR) costs, financial performance, ROAAbstrak. Fenomena yang diambil dari suatu perusahaan yang memiliki biaya csr tinggi akan tetapi tingkat penjualannya menurun. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui biaya corporate social responsibility (CSR), kinerja keuangan dan pengaruh biaya csr terhadap kinerja keuangan pada perusahaan manufaktur sektor industri barang konsumsi yang listed di BEI Tahun 2015-2018 dengan menggunakan penelitian verifikatif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah perusahaan manufaktur sektor industri barang konsumsi yang listed di BEI Tahun 2015-2018. Teknik penentuan sampel pada penelitian ini adalah  purposiveness sampling. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah perusahaan manufaktur sektor industri barang konsumsi yang tidak mengungkapkan biaya corporate social responsibility (CSR). Pengujian hipotesis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan analisis regresi linear sederhana. Pengujian hipotesis menunjukan biaya csr mengalami peningkatan yang menunjukan bahwa perusahaan telah melaksanakan program-program serta kegiatan corporate social responsibility (CSR). Selanjutnya pengujian hipotesis kinerja keuangan mengalami fluktuasi yang mana pada tahun 2015-2016 trend penurunan, sedangkan dari tahun 2017-2018 mengalami trend peningkatan. Maka dari itu hasil hipotesis menunjukan bahwa biaya corporate social responsibility (CSR) berpengaruh terhadap kinerja keuangan yang diukur dengan Return On Assets (ROA).Kata kunci : biaya corporate social responsibility (CSR), kinerja keuangan, ROA
