Abstract. Sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas (L.) is the sixth largest food crop and important for population growth in Asian and African countries. Sweet potato In Japan has been used to treat several diseases. The anthocyanin content in purple sweet potato is a mono or idacetyl derivative 3- (2-glucosil) glucosil -5 glucosil peonidin and sinidin, these compounds function as an antioxidant and free radical scavenger, so they play a role in preventing the occurrence of aging, cancer, and degenerative diseases.The extract leaf from purple sweet potato have an acute toxicity effect. The purpose on this study was to examine the acute toxicity effect of purple sweet potato (Ipomea batatas L.) water extract on rat hematology’s. Samples used in this study was 11 rats.The research method used descriptive correlational analysis. This shows that the dose of water extract sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas) purple is not give toxicity to leukocytes, hemoglobin, platelets in rattus norvegicus. Ubi jalar (Ipomoea batatas (L.) adalah merupakan tanaman pangan terbesar keenam dan penting untuk pertumbuhan populasi di Negara-negara asia dan Afrika. Dijepang sendiri Ubi jalar telah digunakan untuk mengobati beberapa penyakit. Kandungan antosianin pada ubi jalar ungu adalah turunan mono atau idasetil 3-(2-glukosil) glukosil -5 glukosil peonidin dan sinidin, senyawa tersebut berfungsi sebagai aintioksidan dan penangkap radikal bebas, sehingga berperan untuk mencegah terjadinya penuaan, kanker, dan penyakit degenaratif. Ekstrak daun dari ubi jalar ungu diduga memiliki efek toksisitas akut pada tikus. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji efek toksisitas akut ekstrak air ubi jalar (Ipomea batatas L.) ungu terhadap profil darah tikus. Jumlah sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah 11 tikus. Adapun metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif korelasional. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dosis ekstrak air ubi jalar (Ipomoea batatas) ungu tidak memberikan toksisitas terhadap haemoglobin leukosit, trombosit pada tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus).Kata Kunci: Haemoglobin, leukosit, trombosit, tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus), ubi jalar (Ipomoea batatas (L.) ungu.
