Abstract. An athlete must have an unpleasant psychological condition that can cause stress, criticism, and helplessness at a competition. In this condition, team cohesiveness is needed in team sports. A cohesive group will be more cooperative and try to create group unity, while a non-cohesive group is selfish and lacks attention to each of its members. In the West Java baseball team itself, the preparation and training process made the West Java baseball team not reach its target during Pre-PON. The research hypothesis: there is a negative relationship between group cohesiveness and competition reports. The respondents of this research were 25 West Java baseball athletes who will participate in the XX PON. Collecting data using a scale of research that refers to the aspect of the cohesiveness scale of the Forsyth group (2010) as many as 20 items and the scale to compete Martens, et al. (1990) as many as 18 items. Data analysis in this study used Spearman's rho correlation to test the hypothesis. The results showed a significant negative relationship between group cohesiveness and competing reports (r = -0.479).Keywords: group cohesiveness, competition anxiety, West Java baseball athletes.Abstrak: Seorang atlet pasti memiliki kondisi psikologi tidak menyenangkan yang dapat menimbulkan stress, kecemasan, dan tidak berdaya pada suatu pertandingan. Pada kondisi inilah kohesivitas tim sangat di perlukan dalam cabang olahraga tim. Kelompok yang kohesif akan lebih koperatif dan berusaha menciptakan persatuan kelompok, sedangkan kelompok yang tidak kohesif bersifat egois dan kurang perhatian pada setiap anggotanya. Di tim baseball Jawa Barat sendiri, kurangnya persiapan dan proses latihan menjadikan tim baseball Jawa Barat tidak mencapai target pada saat Pra-PON. Hipotesis penelitian ini: adanya hubungan negatif antara kohesivitas kelompok dan kecemasan bertanding. Responden penelitian ini adalah 25 orang atlet baseball Jawa Barat yang akan mengikuti PON XX. Pengumpulan data menggunakan adaptasi skala penelitian sebelumnya yang mengacu pada skala aspek kohesivitas kelompok Forsyth (2010) sebanyak 20 item dan adaptasi skala kecemasan bertanding Martens, dkk (1990) sebanyak 18 item. Analisis data pada penelitian ini menggunakan korelasional Spearman’s rho untuk menguji hipotesis. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan adanya hubungan negatif yang signifikan antara kohesivitas kelompok dan kecemasan bertanding (r = -0.479).Kata Kunci: kohesivitas kelompok, kecemasan bertanding, atlet baseball Jawa Barat. |
