dc.description Abstract. The Az-Zahra Character Elementary School, Bandung City, has Islamic learning targets that aim to instill Islamic values in the character of its students. This learning target aims to address ethical issues and the quality of Indonesian human resources, which at least can be implemented in the family and surrounding communities. The learning targets that the school has are in line with the character school proposed by Thomas Lickona. This study is to get an overview of the application of character education and its effectiveness in the Az-Zahra Character Elementary School, Bandung City. The research method used is quantitative research with descriptive studies. Using Simple Random Sampling with a sample of 64 people. The measuring instrument used is based on the theory of character education by Thomas Lickona, namely School As A Caring Community Profile-II and Respect & Responsibility School Culture Survey. The results showed that the percentage of the effectiveness of the application of character education in schools was high, meaning that character education had been implemented properly in schools. However, there are several aspects that can be improved in order to maximize the value of the effectiveness of the implementation of character education in schools, namely in the adult category, namely Student Friendship and Belonging and Students Shaping Of Their Environment. And aspects of the student category are Student Friendship and Belonging, Students Shaping Of Their Environment, Support Care By Faculty and Bullying. Based on these results, it is hoped that the school will further improve the character education program. In addition, schools also need to work with parents to create students who have good character.Keywords: Character Education, School, Teachers, Students, Az-Zahra Character Elementary SchoolAbstrak. SD Karakter Az-Zahra Kota Bandung memiliki target pembelajaran islami yang bertujuan untuk menanamkan nilai-nilai Islam pada karakter siswa nya. Target pembelajaran ini bertujuan untuk mengatasi permasalahan etika dan kualitas SDM Indonesia, yang setidaknya dapat diimplementasikan di lingkungan keluarga dan masyarakat sekitar. Target pembelajaran yang dimiliki sekolah sejalan dengan sekolah karakter yang dikemukakan oleh Thomas Lickona. Penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan gambaran mengenai penerapan pendidikan karakter beserta efektifitas pelaksanaanya di SD Karakter Az-Zahra Kota Bandung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan studi deskriptif. Menggunakan Simple Random Sampling dengan sampel sebanyak 64 orang. Alat ukur yang digunakan disusun berdasarkan teori Pendidikan Karakter oleh Thomas Lickona yaitu School As A Caring Community Profile-II dan Respect & Responsibility School Culture Survey. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, prosentase efektivitas penerapan pendidikan karakter di sekolah termasuk tinggi artinya adalah pendidikan karakter telah diterapkan dengan baik sekolah. Namun terdapat beberapa aspek yang dapat ditingkatkan guna memaksimalkan nilai efektivitas penerapan pendidikan karakter di sekolah yaitu pada kategori dewasa adalah Student Friendship and Belonging dan Students Shaping Of Their Environment. Dan aspek pada kategori siswa yaitu Student Friendship and Belonging, Students Shaping Of Their Environment, Support Care By Faculty dan Bullying. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, diharapkan pihak sekolah lebih meningkatkan program pendidikan karakter. Selain itu, sekolah juga perlu bekerjasama dengan orang tua untuk menciptakan siswa yang memiliki karakter yang baik.      Kata Kunci: Pendidikan Karakter, Sekolah, Guru, Siswa, SD Karakter Az-Zahra.
