Abstract. Cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide. Cancer treatment such as surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy, there are still side effects. So that for other treatments with natural ingredients, which have potential as anticancer and scientifically proven is the Tespong plant in Korea because is effective in inhibiting growth cancer cells. In Indonesia, tespong plants thrive and are widely used by the community as lalaban. Although the plants studied are the same type, differences can affect growing places in the plant compound. This research to determine the characteristics standard parameter, phytochemical screening potential as an anticancer with BSLT method and LC50 value the ethanol extract the herb tespong. Characteristics standard parameters meet requirements except for requirement total ash content more than 2%, there is a phytochemical screening phenolic, flavonoids, anthraquinone, tannin katekat, monoterpenes and sesquiterpenes and steroids and LC50 values ethanol extracts the herb tespong 91.20 ppm categorized as toxic for LC50 values between 10 to 100 ppm a potential anticancer.Keywords: tespong herb, BSLT method, anticancerAbstrak. Penyakit kanker merupakan penyebab utama kematian di seluruh dunia. Penyembuhan kanker seperti operasi, radioterapi dan kemoterapi masih terdapat efek samping. Sehingga dicari pengobatan lain dengan bahan alam, yang memiliki potensi sebagai antikanker dan terbukti secara ilmiah adalah tanaman tespong di Korea karena efektif dalam menghambat pertumbuhan sel kanker. Di Indonesia, tanaman tespong tumbuh subur dan banyak dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat sebagai lalaban. Meskipun tanaman yang diteliti merupakan jenis yang sama, adanya perbedaan tempat tumbuh dapat mempengaruhi kandungan senyawa dalam tanaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik parameter standar, penapisan fitokimia yang berpotensi sebagai antikanker dengan metode BSLT dan mengetahui nilai LC50 dari esktrak etanol herba tespong. Karakteristik parameter standar memenuhi persyaratan kecuali pada kadar abu total melebihi syarat lebih dari 2%, penapisan fitokimia terdapat fenolat, flavonoid, antrakuinon, tannin katekat, monoterpen dan seskuiterpen serta steroid dan nilai LC50 ekstrak etanol herba tespong didapatkan 91,20 ppm termasuk kategori toksik karena memiliki nilai LC50 antara 10 sampai 100 ppm yang berpotensi sebagai antikanker.Kata kunci: herba tespong, metode BSLT, antikanker |
