Abstract. Pineapple plant (Ananas comosus L.Merr) has an untapped part pineapple peel. This research aimed to examine the potential pharmacological activity of flavonoids compounds in pineapple peel and the mechanism of flavonoids in producing these activity. The method used is a Laboratory experimental method namely extraction with soxhlet method using ethanol 96% as well as study literature methods to see the potential for pharmacological activity. Result of study literature show that flavonoid compounds in pineapple peel produce strong cytotoxic activity with LC50<1000ppm that is 358,323 ppm and 425,927 ppm with the mechanism of flavonoids to induce fragmentation DNA and inhibit the tyrosine kinase receptor in the Larva artemia. Antioxidant activity moderate an IC50<250 μg/ml that is 197.503 µg/ml with mechanism of flavonoid donating hydrogen ions, catch ROS and prevent ROS regeneration of free radicals. Antibacterial activity has a strong inhibition marked by the formation of inhibition zone>20 mm that is 17.0 mm with the mechanism of flavonoids derivative dihydroflavonol inhibit cell membrane function and inhibit the energy metabolism of bacteria.Keywords: pineapple peel, pharmacological activity, flavonoidsAbstrak. Tanaman nanas (Ananas comosus L.Merr) memiliki bagian yang tidak dimanfaatkan yaitu kulit buah nanas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi aktivitas farmakologi senyawa flavonoid dalam kulit buah nanas dan mekanisme flavonoid dalam menghasilkan aktivitas tersebut. Metode yang digunakan merupakan metode eksperimen Labolatorium yaitu ekstraksi dengan metode soxhlet menggunakan pelarut etanol 96% serta metode studi pustaka untuk melihat potensi aktivitas farmakologi. Hasil studi pustaka menunjukan bahwa senyawa flavonoid dalam kulit buah nanas menghasilkan aktivitas sitotoksik yang kuat dengan nilai LC50<1000 ppm yaitu 358,323 ppm dan 425,927 ppm melalui mekanisme flavonoid menginduksi fragmentasi DNA dan menghambat reseptor tyrosin kinase pada larva artemia. Aktivitas antioksidan yang sedang dengan nilai IC50<250 μg/ml yaitu 197,503 µg/ml melalui mekanisme flavonoid mendonorkan ion hidrogen, menangkap ROS serta mencegah regenerasi ROS pada radikal bebas. Aktivitas antibakteri memiliki daya hambat yang kuat ditandai terbentuknya zona hambat>20 mm yaitu 17,0 mm melalui mekanisme flavonoid turunan dihydroflavonol menghambat fungsi membran sel serta menghambat metabolisme energi dari bakteri.Kata kunci: Kulit buah nanas, aktivitas farmakologi, flavonoid |
