Abstract. Cinnamon bark extract (Cinnamomum burmanni (Nees & T.Nees) Blume) and grapeseed oil (Vitis vinifera L.) are known to have good antioxidant and sunscreen activity. This study aims to determine the antioxidant and sunscreen activity of cinnamon bark extract (KBKM), the formulation of KBKM extract emulgel and grapeseed oil with good physical characteristics, and the formula that has the highest preference score based on hedonic tests. In this study an antioxidant activity test was conducted using the DPPH method and sunscreen activity test using the method of mansur. In this research, 3 emulgel preparations were made with variations in the concentration of gelling agent Viscolam MAC10 1%, 3%, and 5%. The final preparations are subjected to physical evaluation of the preparations and likewise tests (hedonic test). The results showed that KBKM extract had very strong antioxidant activity with IC50 value of 11.457 ± 0.36 μg/mL and had sunscreen activity in the ultraprotection category with SPF value of 18,129 ± 0,24. The three emulgel formulas have good physical characteristics, are stable and meet the requirements based on organoleptic test results, homogeneity, pH, dispersion, and centrifugation. Based on the hedonic test results, it was found that the formula with 5% viscolam concentration was the best formula with the highest preference score for each parameter (appearance, texture and comfort) and significantly different from the other formulas (p <0.05).Keywords: Cinnamomum burmanni, grape seed oil, antioxidant, sunscreen, emulgelAbstrak. Ekstrak kulit batang kayu manis (Cinnamomum burmanni (Nees & T.Nees) Blume) dan minyak biji anggur (Vitis vinifera L.) diketahui memiliki aktivitas antioksidan dan tabir surya yang baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antioksidan dan tabir surya dari ekstrak kulit batang kayu manis (KBKM), menentukan formulasi sediaan emulgel ekstrak KBKM dan minyak biji anggur yang memiliki karakteristik fisik yang baik, serta menentukan formula yang memiliki skor kesukaan paling tinggi berdasarkan uji hedonik. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan uji aktivitas antioksidan dengan menggunakan metode DPPH dan uji aktivitas tabir surya dengan metode mansur. Pada penelitian ini dibuat 3 formulasi sediaan emulgel dengan variasi konsentrasi gelling agent Viscolam MAC10 1%, 3%, dan 5%. Terhadap sediaan akhir dilakukan evaluasi fisik sediaan dan juga uji kesukaan (uji hedonik). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ekstrak KBKM memiliki aktivitas antioksidan yang sangat kuat dengan nilai IC50 11,457 ± 0,36 μg /mL dan memiliki aktivitas tabir surya kategori ultraprotection dengan nilai SPF 18,129 ± 0,24. Ketiga formula emulgel memiliki karakteristik fisik yang baik berdasarkan pengujian organoleptis, homogenitas, pH, daya sebar, dan sentrifugasi. Berdasarkan hasil uji hedonik di dapatkan bahwa formula denegan konsentrasi Viscolam MAC10 5% merupakan formula terbaik dengan skor kesukaan tertinggi pada setiap parameter (penampilan, tekstur dan kenyamanan) dan yang berbeda bermakna dengan formula lainnya (p<0,05).Kata Kunci: Kayu manis, minyak biji anggur, antioksidan, tabir surya, emulgel |
