Abstract. The prevalence of parasitic diseases in Indonesia is still very high, one of which is worm infection. Nematode worm infections, both roundworms and hookworms, are treated uses synthetic anthelmintic which are generally limited to certain conditions and do not provide ovicidal effects. One natural material that is thought to have an anthelmintic effect is cucumber seeds (Cucumis sativum L.). This literature review was conducted to determine the anthelmintic activity of cucumber for worms and their eggs used a national and international journal search methodology with parameters used, namely worm mortality and ovicidal effects on worm eggs. The results obtained indicate that the cucumber have an anthelmintic effect and based on the search of various journals it is suspected that cucumbers can also inhibit egg growth or ovicidal effect.Keywords: Anthelmintik, Cucumis sativum, Cucumber, Roundworm, Hookworm Abstrak. Prevalensi penyakit parasit di Indonesia masih begitu tinggi, salah satunya yaitu infeksi cacing. Infeksi cacing nematoda, baik cacing gelang (roundworm) maupun cacing kait atau tambang (hookworm) dilakukan pengobatan menggunakan antelmintik sintetik yang umumnya terbatas pada kondisi tertentu serta tidak memberikan efek ovisidal. Salah satu bahan alam yang diduga memiliki efek antelmintik yaitu biji mentimun (Cucumis sativum L.). Telaah pustaka ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antelmintik mentimun terhadap cacing dan telurnya menggunakan metodologi penelusuran jurnal nasional dan internasional dengan parameter yang digunakan yaitu kematian cacing dan efek ovisidal terhadap telur cacing. Hasil yang didapat menunjukkan bahwa pada mentimun memiliki efek antelmintik dan berdasarkan penelusuran berbagai jurnal diduga mentimun juga dapat menghambat pertumbuhan telur atau ovisidal.Kata kunci: Antelmintik, Cucumis sativum, Mentimun, Cacing Gelang, Cacing Tambang |
